Geo: 52.2025, 0.131237So off we go on the bus, yes the public transport thing. This bus runs down an old disbanded railway line that cars cannot access, thus making the trip very straight forward. Brilliant! Rob, Chris and I went into Cambridge for a spot of study, sightseeing, lunch and naturally beer tasting. Why not? we ask ourselves. Nobody has to drive.Beautiful city.... read more

Geo: 52.8471, -2.29813Visited Rutland today. England's smallest county and Chloe's home and workplace. Had a long walk around the reservoir then a spot of lunch at The Horse and Jockey pub in Manton. Saw several signs for Kettering and Corby during the trip. (not going there at all)We returned to St Ives for a game of poker and sing a long blackjack. (My off the wall invention, that only Jo and I were prepared to play) Too much wine but plenty of laughs was had by all.... read more

Geo: 52.2452, 0.403362A great day at the races in Newmarket. Pretty much came out even on our bets. A beautiful warm day where the booze was obviously taking it's toll on some spectators as the behaviour gradually declined through to the evening. The crowds for UB40 were huge and much pushing and shoving resulted in Chris and I leaving the space to wait for the others after the concert. ... read more

Geo: 52.3325, -0.07639710.40am and it's off again by train from Norwich to Cambridge. (Not via Schipol this time) got all the washing done and dried for another week travelling. 24c today.Have a sneaking suspicion that my case has some wheel damage caused by the cobblestones in Munich. Let's hope it holds out for another 5 weeks.Rob met us at Cambridge station and we were whisked off to the Orchard tea gardens in Grantchester where we met the others for Chloe's birthday. A very nice setting where we had lunch with raspberry lemonade.later back at Rob and Jo's drinks began early afternoon, but not before a spin in Dorothy the dune buggy. Yep I did get a go but my feet did not reach the pedals and I'd forgotten how to drive a manual.A relatively early night ... read more

Geo: 52.3738, 4.8909512.30pm So here we are at Munich airport after catching the S Bahn? The airport is not as close as we thought and more located within the countryside. We have about an hours flight to yep, Schipol airport and I'm hoping and praying that Edward and Tubbs are getting one of the other 3 out of the 4 flights a day to Norwich. It will just be my luck that they sit next me to again for an excruciating 45 minute flight,We have a fair amount of washing to do and judging by the extra 2 kilos the suitcase has gained in a week it can only be down to sweat and dirt in the clothing. Tomorrow we are off again to St Ives in Cambridgeshire to see Rob, Jo, Josh and of course Chloe.3.45pmHave ... read more

Geo: 48.1391, 11.5802Last night we had Mexican for dinner and the shared plate was massive. The picture I took is on my phone which at the moment has decided not to communicate with my iPad. So this time we took the brollies with us. Just as well because the rain is back. A leisurely stroll back into town which is packed once again. We stop for a coffee at €5 each then to Orlando Haus beer hall where beer is €3.80 each. Great to just sit and people watch. Strange that beer is cheaper than coffee! but we're not complaining. I have to say that I don't think I've seen so many Japanese people outside of Japan. One last visit to The Hofbrauhaus to just remind us of how good 'liquid bread' really is. The jolly Oompah ... read more
