Amazing! Paul, these are some great pictures! Looks like you are having a great time! I want to know how you tamed 40 kids with ADHD, maybe do a PD on that?! PD! Ewwww! See you when you get back!
Welcome back, amigo. Paul, I enjoyed the commentary on your travels immensely. With the accompanying pictures I almost felt I was there with you. I think you brought out the essence of each place. I'm sure you're glad to be home, and we hope to see you soon.
Paul. I've enjoyed you sharing your travel adventures. Glad you re heading back home. Have a safe trip. See you in a couple weeks at school. Beth White
Church visited Church pictures were so real as if I've been there the moment I looked at it.Not only that it is stunning, it 's spiritually captivating as it draws a person for an intimate encounter with His CREATOR... God.
Dear Paul,
You combine "business" with pleasure: to help as a volunteer the poor childeren at Vamos and to make a native dish with crickets but also to visit the Brady museum. I guess you have a great time in Mexico. I enjoy your messages and pictures.
With kind regards,
Wim
Wonderful! Paul,
I really enjoyed seeing your pics these past few weeks. You will always be able to reflect on this experience. I shared some of them with Cathy Randall from Broad Acres, we had a few laughs at your comments. Please tell Diana I am the one who donated the ESOL materials to the Esperanza Center in June. Hope to hear from you soon.
Butt Shot Successful? Hey, Paul: The butt shot must have succeeded, since you're back to traveling and blogging. Hope you're cured! Fabulous photos, BTW.
Dear Paul,
Interesting to read about arts in the schools.
I have to think of micro-credits to enable things like that. Is that known also in Mexico?
Our princess Maxima is very active on that domain.
With kindest regards,
Wim
Our Disappeared My brother-in-law is a documentary film editor. In 2008 he co-produced and edited a film called
"Our Disappeared" by Juan Mandelbaum. It tells the stories and talks with the families of people who disappeared b in Argentina between 1976-83. Thousands of people were kidnapped, tortured and murdered by the military dictatorship. They would go off to work or school and never be seen again.
Dear Paul,
Interesting the lecture on dying languages in the world. I ever read something like that regarding languages in Papua New Guinea.
I hope you had a good lunch (video) in Santiago Tianguistenco Market. I said that name 10 times and I had a knot in my tongue. After a visit to the Santa Maria del Buen Suceso I guess your stay in Mexico must be full of good events. I wish you a pleasant time.
With kindest regards
Wim
Ouch! Paul, my legs are aching just thinking about climbing all those steps. But what an amazing sight at the top! This is just a fabulous trip, and your pictures are terrific. The church in Taxco is beautiful. Who knew a small, poor town like Taxco would have such an elaborate church in its center. I guess the faithful give all they have. Thank you for keeping up the blog. Gail
Beautiful Paul thanks again for sharing! I feel as if I'm there with you. Santa Prisca is so beautiful. Kudos to you for taking the long journey up to the statue of Jesus! Can't wait to see the next set of photos.
Taxco Paul,
Thank you for your wonderful commentary and the great photos of your trip. The church in Taxco is breathtakingly beautiful. I could see myself returning to the church if it meant attending services in a church like that. It would be an inspiration just to be inside. Congratulations on making it up the mountain! Mary
Hi Paul,
Thank you for your interesting blogs.
Reading your story about the market in El Mercado I have to think of the markets in Spain. At the first time I did not know what I saw : chickens that were killed there and a lot of meat without refrigeration... with flies. And people bought it.
Malinalco seems me very beautiful. The rituals the had there, are crazy indeed. But that is also the fall with more ancient nations, think of the Batavians in our country.
With kindest regards and a pretty trip further on.
Wim
Dear Paul,
Nice stories/histories, nice pictures.
Impressive site, Xochicalco.
You must have a very agreable time there in Mexico.
With kind regards,
Wim
Wow! Hi, Paul:
Wow! You're seeing some amazing sights and sites! Thanks for letting me enjoy summer via you! As for the human sacrifice...age before beauty!!
what really happened So you were told a story as well. I was there 8 yrs ago and they told us that the winners were sacrificed as well, but at a local village they told us nobody really knew. I wondered where they got a rubber ball from??
thanks for the pics
2010- I'm visiting Cuernavaca, Mexico, for six weeks with the "Partners in Education 2010 Fulbright-Hays Groups Abroad" program. Thanks to Dr. Colleen Ebacher and Dr. Ronn Pineo from Towson University, Towson, MD, USA, 16 teachers will be experiencing and learning about Mexican social, economic, and cultural issues. We have a very busy schedule, listening to many lectures, often going until 8 at night. And over the six-week period we will be visiting dozens of historical sites throughout the area. Cuernavaca is called "The City of Eternal Spring."
