After a nice omellete for breakfast we checked out and were introduced to our driver at reception who seemed nice enough and had a good level of english and a half decent toyota camry(every taxi here seems to be a toyota camry),a mile up the road he pulled over into a garage said' This is my driver' got out the car and this other guy gets in and he cannot speak a word of english,ok we thought..dodgy but we can handle this..another mile up the road he pulls into an area with around 20 guys all stood around. It looked like some sort of a taxi lay by as all the other cars around were toyota camrys. After a 20 minute wait here,he gets back in the car and so doe's a random guy who sits in ... read more

We were both up and ready in reception for 4.30am,bleary eyed but excited as we were heading to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat one of the 7th wonders of the ancient world. It was built in the early 12th century for king Suryavaman II as his state temple and capital city.Firstly hindu dedicated to god Vishnu then Buddhist. It is the symbol of Cambodia and is the prime attraction for visitors to the country. We met our tuk tuk driver for the day Denny and headed off into the night sorry morning. It was still pitch black at this point but the amount of people out and about at this time was suprising. We arrived at the checkpoint to buy our day pass for $25 and have our photographs taken. Both taken aback by the amount ... read more

So after our colourful 6 hour train journey up to Kanchanaburi by 3rd class train we decided we didnt have the time or the patience to do this on our exit,so we opted for a 1st class air conditioned bus,100 baht for only two hours! Now when they say air conditioned they mean it! On this bus you couldnt turn the damn air conditioning off! This resulted in me being absolutely freezing and with my backpack in the holdall then I was just gonna have to sit here and freeze for the two hours! Two hours later we hopped off the bus into a very hot, humid and busy as hell Bangkok,I have no idea where it dropped us but I assumed this was the right place as the driver gave me a little nod! After much ... read more

We got picked up at the pier by our driver for the day Mr Mun in a little minivan we'd hired him for the day to do oursightseeing much better rather than being with a big tour group! First stop was Erawan waterfalls which is a 7 tiered waterfall in the mountains of a national park! We got out tickets and headed off at 9.00am knowing we had alot of walking to do Mr.Mun would wait for us in his car for a few hours! All of the waterfalls are different they get better and better the higher you go.most people seemed to give up at the 3rd tier as its so hard walking through the jungle over and under huge logs climbing up rocks etc at the 4th tier we were drippin with sweat and ... read more

So our next stop is the River Kwai Jungle Rafts which sits on the Thai/Burmese border,in order to get here we had two choices either a 2 hour bus journey or a 5 hour train journey...we picked the train for some reason lol mainly because of the scenery we would see through the jungle. So we were up at 5.30am as we had to make a 7.45am train but Bangkok is that busy with traffic we had to gve ourselves an huor to get across Bangkok, when the driver pulled up the train station I thought he must have been mistaken because the place had one little box and loads of people etc it just didnt look like a train station, we purchased our ticket to Nam Tok for 150 baht and took a seat with loads ... read more

First and foremost sorry for not getting a blog up sooner but we have been constantly on the go and not had much time or electricity lol! So after a 7 hour flight from Birmingham we hit Dubai airport at around 8.00am,freshened up in the bathroom as we were feeling a bit grubby after the flight. We had heard there was an Irish bar in the airport were you could drink and have a cigarette so we set off on a mission to find the place and omg what a mission it was Dubai airport is huuuge! By the time we got there we had to down our drink and set off for the half an hour walk back to our gate! The flight from Dubai to Bangkok was pretty cool as the plane we was on ... read more
