Questions and answers So . . . how old ARE you and how much DO you weigh and who DID you vote for and if you have to prioritize your favorite countries where would Pakistan be on your list? And why o why don't you have 5 or 6 children? I can related to some of these. Especially the one's about no children, even after two or three years of marriage. Africans do NOT get that! Great blog. Great reflections on the wonder of long conversations at table or on a walk. We Americans are missing important things. We are just home from 17 days in Spain. A fine journey. I miss the coffee and the croissants and the lengthy conversation over multi-course, no hurry, meals.
The Land of Great Conversations Your information is impressive. I'm also a travel blogger and I believe we both can help each other by offering amazing blogs in this category. Here I provide my official webpage for your visitors and you as well. Let's inspire people together about traveling. https://zairickards.org/
"How many kids?" As a woman who almost always travels alone, I, too, get hit up with awkward questions. I will make up a husband, and when asked why he isn't with me, I say he has to stay home to work. But when asked about kids I've found the best way - and a way to save face for both me and the questioner - is to simply say "No," in a sad tone of voice. Most people will drop the subject at this point, assuming that it is a topic too sad for me to discuss.
Living life Hello. Our old friend CP Ward sent us your blog link because we “need to know about you.” Well I have to say, she’s right that we think your life look grand. Love travels. Love the Flint Hills. Love cows. Love India. Thank you for sharing. All best. S.Allen & Kay Garrett
So great to hear from you Susan! What a great story! I know CP—my dad spoke very highly of her. I will need to thank her for her recommendations to the blog. How fun!! Thank you so much for reading and for following along, I really appreciate it.
Bravo What a great story. I guess all of us world travelers have a story about what ignited our wanderlust. I'm glad your passion for camels has lead you to Saudi Arabia. I'm sure you'll enjoy the camel auction. We have just landed in Jeddah a few hours ago and will work our way toward Saudi. It was be fun if our paths crossed. We should share itinerary's. MJ
The Kingdom of Travels Dave here....we just arrived in Jeddah and are sitting in our hotel reading your blog. What a great story. We wish we could have met you while here, but that is not in the cards.
Enjoy Jeddah Hello Dave, thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy your time in KSA. I hope our travels take us to where our paths can cross some day. Safe travels and have a wonderful time!!
How to Grow Succulents Succulent plants have adapted over millions of years to arid climates where there is little water available for them – this means that they are able to thrive on very little soil moisture and can survive even in the most inhospitable conditions how to grow succulents.

It has been several years, but I still remember meeting your wonderful camels. I was there with the BBBS cattle drive fundraiser. It was a wonderful experience that I’ll never forget. Thank you!
I enjoy reading your blogs. You write so well!! Keep enjoying the adventures with your dad ? They are priceless.
Wow...what an amazing story... And I really like your Dad's goal of visiting every place mentioned in the song You Belong to Me. I just listened to the song again. Did you and your dad accomplish you goals?
Yes, we did accomplish Dad’s goals I guess I should have mentioned that—we did see each moment mentioned in the song. The hardest task was Algiers—we came close a few times and politics messed it up, but we did ultimately make! Thank you for asking!

Whoops....hit enter too soon. Really liked your comment "So we did what you do when you need something to survive. You jump in, manage the risks and make it through the slog." It's a new world now, but we travelers will simply adapt. More hassles perhaps, but you cannot deter us from our travel!
Thanks for posting... I've postponed my flight to Scotland from Aug 2020 to June 2021 to Aug 2021, and now to Aug 2022. I'm waiting for all the covid over re-actions to settle down to minimize not only the situations you mention, but also many closures of places I want to visit. The summer of 2021 Scotland was very crowded due to British citizens not being able to travel to the EU, so traveling within the UK.
Georgia that is Georgia When we toured Armenia we often wished we had time to cross the border into neighbouring Georgia. But the best experiences are when you spend sufficient time to absorb the clime. Georgia is still on our radar and as your blogs seems to profess...give a generous portion of time to Georgia or 'tis those special moments that you will probably miss.
Tips... In Tokyo we made the mistake of giving a tip to the housekeeping staff. They were mortified and broke out in tears. Anyway, thanks for your observations!
Summary What a great overview of the country and its people and customs. Good practical advice to keep in the file for any international "foreign" travel.
