Hey! We are now in Granada, Nicaragua which is a lot like Antigua. Very safe, touristy and colonial. Big beautiful cathedrals and cobblestone streets and a central park. We took the bus this morning at 7AM from Leon and it took 2 chicken buses and 3 hours (and only 4$) to get here. It´s really annoying because it´s all Nicaraguans except for us so they charge the Nicaraguans one price and then wait until we are getting off and ask us for more than everyone else pays. That happens all the time with chicken buses but even if you can´t argue out of it, it´s still way cheaper than any other buses. We are at a nice hostal in an old colonial building with huge rooms and vaulted ceilings. We are travelling with a Dutch couple ... read more

Hey all! So we made it though Honduras alive. We left Utila on the 2 PM ferry 2 days ago and then stayed in La Ceiba for a night at this German lady´s hotel ¨Rainbow Village¨. It was very nice but a bit pricey but she offered drives from the ferry and to the bus station so that was nice. La Ceiba is a dirty, sketchy city, like most cities in Honduras, so we didn´t want to be cheap there. We caught an 8:30 bus the next morning to Tegucigalpa which took 8.5 hours and then immediately took a taxi to a new bus which took 3 more hours to get to Choluteca, which is only 45 minutes from the Nicaraguan border. So basically 12 consecutive hours on a bus, pretty shitty. So last night, we ... read more

Hey all, We bussed from Copan all the way to La Ceiba 2 days ago which took 8 hours and then another hour for the ferry from La Ceiba to Utila Island. It was a pretty terrible day because although I never get car sick in Canada, here I am consistently feeling like crap in the buses and also seasick on the ferry because it´s a small ferry and it was pretty choppy. Another thing that made the day so crappy is that some asshole through a rock through the window on the bus right in front of us and glass flew right into our faces. We were okay but freaked out because at first, we thought we were being shot at. However, tonight I learned that on the same bus route from San Pedro to ... read more

Hi guys, Mitch and I are in Copan as of yesterday and it is very nice! Very hot a humid and tropical. We went to the ruins which were pretty interesting and the pictures are coming. Today, we went horseback riding and it was really sweet. The horses here are small and bony looking but pretty strong and the guide pretty much just followed us as we led our own trail ride! The people here seem very friendly. There are not too many tourists here right now because the elections are coming up and that may cause problems. However, in small towns and on he islands, I don't think we will have trouble with that. Tomorrow we are headed to Utila Island (in the Carribbean) where we will get certified for Scuba diving. It is cheaper ... read more

Hey guys! So we left Antigua yesterday and are now in Semuc Champey or close enough. Things kinda sucked two days ago (our last day in Antigua) when I was robbed. When I was walking through a bunch of Guats gettin on a bus some asshole slit my purse and stole my wallet which happened to contain my cash, debit card and mastercard. I cancelled my cards within 20 minutes and they had already cought 30$ worth of Subway! Luckily Mastercard was very helpful and I'm not paying for their little food spree. I was pretty bummed that afternoon but now... f*** it! My awesome mom is sending me a new debit card and Mastercard already has another credit card on the way! Sooo we took a bus for 6 hours yesterday to get here and ... read more
