I'm off again, This time to my home land to answer the age old question, what is the better Island. I have always said the north. Well the South Island beckons, I am car'd up, tented up and ready to go. Bring it on South Island. Impress me! (you are part of N.Z so I have no doubt you will be amazing, but just how amazing is the question)

So I am off jet setting again, I thought long and hard about the destination, A good traveling friend of mine is heading to Mexico, that sounds amazing and I really want to head to Central America, then there is Africa, so many countries to choose from. Europe looks amazing, all great places to choose from. But I have settled on New Zealand. Some people may be a little confused about this, it’s not like I have never been there, with the being born there and all, and I do head there about once a year, in fact this will be my second trip here this year. However this time I am heading down to the South Island. Yes I have traveled to many places around the world. I have lived in Jungles, in deserts. I ... read more

So 5 days into Cambodia and it had been all fun and games. We had had a great time in Seim Reap and were headed off to Phnom Penh. After arriving in in PP after a pretty bad 7 hour bus trip, some of that pain was defiantly self inflicted we get to our hotel. We didn’t get the room that we booked and I got a bit cranky. I was super tired and sore from the bus ride and I was starting to come down with a cold. I wanted my bath. We didn’t have a bath. I kinda cracked it for a wee bit, but then got over it. We had organized the tuk tuk driver to pick us up again the next day to take us out to the killing fields. We headed ... read more

So it is off to Cambodia. The day started off heading over the border. Thankfully we had read a lot about the border crossing because there are loads of people trying to scam you and take you to a fake visa place to get your visa for Cambodia, charging you about three times the amount and giving you a fake visa, meaning when you get through you still have to buy the right one. It was actually quite a simple process we just walked from our hotel, it was a couple of hundred meters and quite well sign posted. Once you got to the Cambodian side you just had to go to the visa place and pay $20USD. They were all really helpful and very nice. Once we had that sorted there were all these guides ... read more

Asia » Thailand » South-West Thailand » Ko Tao March 1st 2014

So it is off to Kah Tao, the last Island adventure of this leg of Thailand, quite possibly the last Thailand beach I will get too. After a rocky ride we get to the island safely I was a little concerned for a bit. It was a pretty bumpy ride, and I didn’t take any anti nausea pills. I had figured that I had been o.k s far so I should be right, how ever I didn’t take into account that the reason I had been o.k on other trips was because I had taken the pills, it was a little bit of a fail for me. At least I wasn’t the worst of there, there was this poor lady with a very painful broken leg, who was having a mighty rough time of it. It ... read more

So another two weeks down and so many adventures had. We had landed in Malaysia and were staying at this little guesthouse in Langkawi, it was quite away from everywhere, but it was quite nice. The owners there were super lovely and arranged for us to. Hire a car for the day. There were these cable cars in the island that went on a 2.2km ride up a 700mt hill, it was amazing. The ride up was spectacular, if not a little scary. It is definitely not one for those with hight issues it starts off pretty fast, and climbs quite high as you head strait towards a very steep rock face which you launch up. You seem to be climbing at about a 70 degree angle, it is quite daunting and it pays not to ... read more

So I started this new Adventure a little under a week ago. As I am sitting on a secluded beach in Langkawi. I look back to a week ago were I was having dinner at my Cousins house with about 20 people. It was the perfect end to my latest stint in Australia catching up with my awesome family, and the perfect start to my latest adventure. Since then I have been in 3 countries in 6 days. I flew out of Australia on Tuesdays, continuing my lasted string of luck with planes running late. I finally got into Bangkok at 2am after about 10 hours of flying. I must of still been sentimental about family time as I gave up my perfectly selected seat for one not so comfy so a family could sit together. ... read more

I guess you are always going toget that wherever you go. The house is a little strange at the... read more

I have had a great week. I am loving my time more and more here. The week started off pretty well. It was a few of the girls last week here so we went out to this nice Peruvian Restaurant called Inca Wasi we tried Cuy, I'm sure you've seen the pictures on Facebook. I didn't think I would like it but I really did. Everyone says it tastes like chicken, but it doesn't, it's a lot more gamey, a little like Duck I guess, I even ate the Heart, it was delicious. We all shared the one Guinea pig between us. For a main I had Alpaca, something else I was looking forward to trying. I loved it, it's hard to describe what it tastes like, given how much I hate lamb I was really ... read more
