Hi Cabo! I enjoyed your blog very much and the photos look great! Your info will come in handy on my upcoming trip! Had you gone to Arequipa to work in Casa Verde (as in was it planned ahead of time?) or is it an orphanage where you can go and sign up to volunteer a day or two there? I have been looking for a project/ do my part for the country hosting me and most things in Peru it is looking need to be booked ahead of time. Please be sure to let me know!
Ahhh...Gotta try the frog legs ! You just gotta try the froggies ! They are cute and yummy :) Honestly, they taste like chicken. Simply delish in congee ! LOL
Lovely, Astonishing and... scary? Hey, your journeys are outstanding, but the one to Peru cleans up the clock! Those spectacular views of landscapes, inner-towns filled with the tremondous Nazca Owl Man saying something like 'Oi newcommers,' terrific! I wosh I could be there just for a moment and experience the sand burned to the edge by the gold Peruvian sun. But what scarred me a lot was the baby mummy, how is it possible to sacrifice such an innocent being? All in all, my best wishes for you and I hope you will keep travelling, the world is one big mystery to reveal.
P.S.
I forgot to mention this oasis - it reminds me about one game I used to play - 'Diablo,' there were such places which gave me the essence of temporary tranquility, superb. Don't forget to try new experiences too, such as safari travels! Try it out over here:

the whole trying not to scream thing - trying to think of any 3rd world destination where i haven't had that thought...usually trying not to look down the isle of a too big bus on a too small road beeping gamely as we go around a too blind corner. ARRGGHH! cambodia, costa rica, nepal, all the same. and yet they seem to survive it most of the time. pure madness. glad to see you blogging again! your writing, as always, brings me a smile. :)
Love it! What's next?? Being driven around in Lima felt like being in the middle of a video game with 10-year-old boys at the helm.
Where did you go next?

TY for your creepy comment I consider myself extremely blessed to travel and experience first hand all cultures & religions of the world - and lucky I live in a world where I can freely express what I feel, see, taste, and hear in my own words. As did you. All the best.
not creepy This looks to be the doll of Obatala and is not creepy at all, but very beautiful. It is very rude also to refer to things related to peoples religious beliefs as "creepy" or any other derogatory word. If you do in fact thinks it's creepy, just recognize that with yourself and move on you do not need to "post" it for the world. Maferefun Obatala!
San Jose Del Cabo Hello,
I stumbled across your sight and it took me a trip down memory lane. My family and I used to go to cabo in the 80's. We always enjoyed our trips there and I am going back in the next few weeks. I have not been in almost 25 years. Do yo remember a restaurant in San Jose called Andre Mar? We used to love it there. it was right on the main street I think. Anyway, any suggestions on places to go, eat drink, day trips etc??
Thanks,
Paul
Just a quick question ... If people were coming to the island that could give them food ... why not hitch a ride with them off the beach ... or did they just like giving out the nooky? I am just asking!
Love the blog ... it was a great funny read. Wish I was on the beach waiting for the storms to blow in!
nice! great post andrea. You've taken my #1 piece of Cuba advice to heart: come see and experience it for yourself! Bet you won't come just once!
PS - that's the Memorial Marti pictured at the bottom there. Anyone in Havana: go to the top for the best and highest 360 views of the city.
lo siento senor! @aspiringnomad. my apologies for offending your travel senses! hopefully you will reconsider, as not all of mexico is resort-like. I love love Mexico and its peoples...
Cute! Cute blog Andrea, lol, I definitely felt tips one and two upon arriving here! I like especially what you say about the English, it's SO true, we're in their country, not the other way around! The ignorance amazes me too! And if I may ... please reconsider the dolphin swimming, have you seen "The Cove"? Oy, it broke my heart! Happy Travels Canadian Girl! :D P.S. Are you fluent in Spanish now?
I enjoyed your Mexico post. It looks like you are having a good time there. My blog is looking for travel photos. If you have time, email us some at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com and check us out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com
Continued fun on your travels,
Eric
Remembering my own trip to Cuba Andrea
You decribe Cuba just as I remember it, I did a similar trip and similar images in 2003.
I took the train from Havana to Santiago and came back to Havana by cab with three nights in Trinidad and one in Las Tunas. What an adventure!
You're a great story teller and very acturate.
You are a total riot. Thanks for the laughs. :) I would have thought that wit sprang from a fellow upstate New York but I stand duly corrected. Oh, Canada. I'll look forward to getting fired as I distractedly page backwards through your travels. Cheers!
This Canadian girl's passion for travel comes from my adventurous parents. My brother and I spent most of our youth traveling all over North America in the family’s camper van, airplane, and boat - going as far west as the Hawaiian islands, as far north as Tuktoyaktuk, and as far south as Mexico doing lots of adventurous stuff...canoeing, surfing, fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, exploring, jellyfish poking...it was the best childhood ever!
That same adventurous spirit fueled my travel passion for over 30 years. I’ve been all over the shop. Now that I'm newly retired, I split my lif... full info

Hi! Just a couple of corrections: - It's "LA Calera", not Caldera. - It's "Taquile" island, not Tranquilla. Keep posting!
