Wow! That rubber seal was some kind of miracle!!!! You were blessed! How was your cabin? The views certainly were incredible, and again, your pics were amazing! I wish you well as you continue your adventure!
Wish I was there too !!, but Karen would never go for a ride that long. Did u see the tide come in at the Cook Inlet ? it looks like a wall of water 20 feet high ! Quite a sight as I recall !
Wow! Not sure which one of you seasoned travelers is the amazing photographer...some beautiful shots, but then nothing beats Mother Nature for subject matter. Would have like to see a shot of the little cabin though. Looking forward to seei ng you next weekend in Seattle. Thanks again for sharing your Yukon adventure.
Your daily commentary and Nat Geo quality photos are awesome and greatly appreciated by all of your loyal fans. Too bad Alaska isn't filled with MTN hosts!
Are you EVER SO TIRED of hearing from me???? Spectacular! I will be shocked and amazed if you EVER return home to CA! You may decide that THIS is the life (at least until you run out of money!!) This is true beauty that is God's country for sure!
What a trip. I love it when I'm someplace special on a birthday.you will always remember this birthday. Congratulations.Keep having fun. We're enjoy your trip daily.
Excellent!!! Great pics! Thanks for taking me with you via your travelpod! There are some areas in WA where you can see moose while backpacking. Learned to stay clear, though, since they can be aggressive. The beauty is splendid, and i t takes your breath away. Happy birthday, Janet! Cannot think of a better way to spend it! Be blessed on your journey!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANET!!! Dave, she is still Queen for the Day (did I mention last year that the queen thing is a lifetime privilege). Miss you guys...the trip has been wonderful...thanks for sharing it with us every day Dave. D&G
Breathtaking vistas!!! The Alyeska Resort was just what you needed to celebrate your anniversary! Congratulations, BTW!!! Love mountain goats and big horn sheep, which we saw plenty of in our backpacking days! You have taken such wonder ful pictures! I bet eating at the summit was awesome, and you must be getting your fill, all right, of fresh seafood!!! Folks are really nice up that way! The manager offering you a room and shower at his residence! The beauty you are seeing must be overwhelming!
You two are really having a great time. If you are going back to Anchorage by any chance, check out Chicoot Charlie's. It's the biggest pub I've ever seen, plus lots of entertainment (KOOT.com)
Wow! Spectacular indeed! Reminds me a bit of flying from Kathmandu to Lukla in a twin engine job, right into the side of a mountain, to begin our trek in the Himalaya. It must have been incredible for you to see Denali from the air, and truly the highlight of your trip, as you said! Although, based on your adventures, there have been nothing BUT highlights!!!!! Someone is an incredible photographer!!!! Thanks again for taking me there!!!
Spectacular! You probably felt the way we did in the Himalaya mountains as we viewed Everest and its contrail. That was like being on another planet! I admire your sense of adventure! That must have been a long five miles in that constr uction, but it seems that with every set back, you are rewarded with such beauty for the eyes, and such wonderful food for the senses!
