An introduction is always a good way to start. I am 52 married, love to travel, and living in Perth Western Australia. Earlier this year I decided on a career change and took myself back to College to study wholesale tourism, my greatest difficulty, learning new soft wear programs, but I am making progress and passing and YES I am so happy I made the change.
Previously I have organised our travel arrangements, not always easy from Perth a very isolated city even in Australia. So consider travel distances, times and loosing and gaining crossing international date lines, and I knew I was up for a more challenging role in the industry.
I suppose you could describe my travel diary in terms of BC (before children)and AC (after Children), although my gen Y’s still co-habitat with parents they are of and age to be left (if not trusted)! BC travelling was well thought out budget planning, party, tag along, scrounge a lift, grab a bed scrimp and save travelling, wonderful for the under 30’s. AC travelling is a joy; I have experience, time and money to enjoy a totally new perspective on travel, car hire, upgrades, taxi and we can do that!
I always like to have a trip booked so as I know I have something to look forward to; I am flexible with destinations, airlines, ect. I always do my homework when it comes to what I want to experience. Homework is reading anything and everything from travel books to newspaper articles, and my favourite travel blogs. There so no better recommendation than another’s experience, good or bad, you can always pick up that something that can change the whole itinerary.
One of my greatest loves when travelling is meeting and talking with new people, having enough time to be more than just a tourist in any city or place. Someone said to me once there is a difference to seeing and experiencing a destination, how true.
I am comfortable travelling alone, with my partner and girlfriends, whatever the opportunity.
