Well i dont have too much time because i leave soon to catch a bus to Barcelona for the weekend but i just wanted to update you all on the rest of my week. I had another exam on wednesday and it went ok i think. It was hard but i know that i did well enough. Yesterday I had my first presentation for my conversation class. It was sooo nerve racking. You will not believe my crazy luck yesterday!!!! So the San Sebastian Film Festival has been going on for the past week and there were two main big movies that were being shown during it along with a bunch of other smaller less well-known films. There was the Brad Pitt movie Inglourious Bastards and of course you already know that Brad Pitt actually came to San Sebastian to promote the movie and actually watch the first showing. And that was exciting although i didnt get to see him. But the second big movie was The Imaginarium of Dr. Pernassus which is the movie that Heath Ledger died halfway through filming. What a rough but amazing couple of weeks so far! I'm finally starting to really enjoy my classes besides the hours of homework and work i have to put in to them. But it all really seems to be worth it. I am really learning a lot! It's crazy how much spanish i have already picked up from just being in Spain for 3 weeks. Plus my teacher is absolutely the sweetest and nicest lady ever. She tells us all of this interesting information about spanish and basque culture and she really wants for us to learn and get the most of our experience. Well yesterday was a pretty good day even though today was a pretty miserable day. Yesterday, Brad Pitt arrived in town for the film festival and he is staying at the Maria Christina hotel which is right down the street from our apartment. That was kind of exciting. Also, last night Meghan, Mia, Guy, Chuck, Laura, and me went to this jazz bar and it was really really cool. The music was live and it was this guy who played acoustic guitar and he sung in spanish and sometimes he had a drummer and tamberine player too but he was really good. Since my little breakdown on Wednesday things are looking up. I finished up the first school week without too much more difficulty and even though class is hard, I really like the group of people I’m in class with. There are five of us including me, two boys: Derek and Steven and two other girls: Kayla and Katherine. They are a lot of fun and our teacher is super nice even though she is tough. Yesterday, Mia and I went shopping to get a more “Spanish” outfit. Everyone here dresses really nice everyday for every occasion. Whether it’s work, going to the grocery store, or even just going for a walk they are all dressed so nice and in fashion. It is obvious that appearances and fashion are very important here.
