How very sad I trust you will be writing to the Bolivian government on your return. I shall write to them this weekend. Utterley outrageous. How lucky we are. x
The true price of capitalism. I am sure that those who work and those who have died in the mines of Potosi have never been recognised or shared much in the wealth that they created for their European 'masters'. The 1st world owes a lot to the 9 million who died and their descendants deserve a better future. Many of the slaves who died here were African and Native Americans.
I love La Paz I guess..... you are mean with La Paz and Tiwanaku, I have gone to Tiwanaku many times and I find it interesting each time. An artifact and monoliths with protosumerian writting were found ... but of course this things can be interesting just if you enjoy archaeology.... and I guess you don't ...
you could also have gone to Yungas which is a zone close to La Paz with tropical weather and subtropical vegetation, Coroico, Sorata, Chulumani... and with more days time you could have gone to the lake Titicaca (I guess the higher in the world) , Copacabana and its archaeological remains, etc.
Yes, there are many things to be done here, specially if you like archaeology, vegetation, atractive landscapes, different culture (non occidental at all) , etc.
I love BOLIVIA, I love La Paz !!!!
(And, as far as I know the valle de la luna of Chile is really small compared with the one here... ja !)
Other destinies in Bolivia , that I havenĀ“t gone but I am crazy to go: the longest lake of salt Uyuni, Samaipata (el fuerte), the Toro Toro caves, the city of Potosi, Rurrenabaque, dinosaur footprints in Sucre, Incallajta, parque Madidi (has the mayor concentration of different type of birds and flora), parque Noel Kempf, and more than 300 hundred archaelogical sites all around Bolivia. This is my country and I am very proud of it.
Get a chicharron in a good and safe place, dance tinku, diablada, morenada, caporales, .... go to a Parade to see it, try to feel part of the culture
My country is beautiful everywhere you see, there are so many places and towns that the list would be endless
Crossing Frontier I'm glad to hear you crossed the border safely without any hitches! Everything you do sounds so exciting! Keep sending the wonderful blogs.
