Left Skegness at around 10.00 a.m. with some trepidation because of weather forecast for snow and holdups to traffic. We went and bought a blanket and some food (biscuits) and one bottle of water in case. The snow on the cars and housetops was our morning greeting, and then as we left the city area the snow provided those scenes that you only have seen on postcards or movies. Fields covered in snow, fences with snow where the wind made it stick and then the trees, hedges, footpaths, and just about everything else had its own tale to tell. Only about 20 minutes into the trip and we came across a roundabout with cars, trucks pointing in various directions and a policeman in large bright yellow parka waving arms and pointing.
