Being a visual person I automatically picture everything I read...
and for the life of me I could see how, in the course of using toilet paper, it would catch on fire. However, the caption on a picture enlightened me...burning is a consequence of disposal. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your hike...much easier picturing in my mind than walking the whole route...maybe someday.

Beautiful words and even more beautiful pictures.
I read your blog with some tears in my eyes remembering my visit to Torres de Paine a few years ago. The beauty is so stunning and the stillness and silence of the surroundings make the place truly sacred. I have a picture I took of the lake with the peaks in the background. I look at it everyday Your blog brought me back to that lovely place. So sorry to read of the fire. I write under the blog name 'gunga'.

Parque Arqueológico Piedras Pintadas
I'm glad you had a chance to go to Parque Arqueológico Piedras Pintadas. I had a chance to go in the summer of 2010 and was really happy I got to see all those great petroglyphs. I'm a photographer and plan on working out a way to get funding to go back to Nicaragua and photographer there petroglyphs in depth to rise more awareness of these art works. I also blog about my experience heres the link so you can check out my images http://diegocorrealphoto.blogspot.com/2010/10/ancient-drawings.html and heres another post about my time in Nicaragua http://diegocorrealphoto.blogspot.com/2010/10/future-of-country.html

hi from Argentina
I do love Buenos Aires. I live at 400km, in a city called Tandil, lovely place to live surrounded by hills and a lake. I like the way you describe my country and my people. You use preciese words, no doubt you are a great observer. Enjoy Patagonia. Hugs. Graciela.

You are a connector.
Elizabeth, Have you read the book, "The Tipping Point?" In that book they describe people who are connectors and you are one of those people. We've decided we want to start traveling with you!. Sounds like a fantastic trip and an exciting group of people. . Just fantastic.

Namaste Liz! great description of mother India. I was immediately propelled right back into those noisy crammped streets with the "awakening" smells, good or bad the scent is always strong and yes-always there. Its the mad clammer to get on with what ever you are supposed to be doing that cracks me up. You cant just stop in the street and look at everything going on because you either get hussled or given strange looks that say " you must be doing something or try to look busy at least" the only rest bite is when your sitting on a train or bus and then your excused to just stare out the window. It is a mad place to go even if your completely experianced in the third world or hardened ready for a culture shock. An old rough guide described the country as a continent for it self and a complete assault on your senses. I loved it for the ameniable chirpy hussly people full of hope and humour, disliked it for the corruption and lack of toilets whithin twenty paces!! Great blog mate superb pics--look forward to Bhutan. Paul Moody
