Hey there
Well, somehow I stummbled on to your site and couldn't stop reading it! I am heading down to Puerto Vallarta New years and I was searching for things to do. I felt a little like I was being intrusive on your site because I don't know you, but I feel like I kinda do now. I just wanted to say you did a brilliant job with the pictures and the descriptions, I felt like I was there with you. Thanks

Happy New Year
Hi guys, since I missed wishing you Merry Christmas at least I am early for this holiday! Looks like fun - too bad about the illness. - 6 sounds crisp but I know not really unpleasant although I am happy here even in the scorching heat with limited air con and no water in our great new cement pool. Never mind, I finished work today and I'm joining Neil and entourage tomorrow for the week. We are on our own for 4 days so looking forward to the resort down south. By the way when is your expected date of return?? It must be comin up soon. Somerville movies are in swing! Cheers! Sandy

Merry Christmas
And a belated Merry Christmas to you as well, Judy and Rags. It's been great reading your blog. For the past couple of days we've really, really wished we were there in northern Europe with you - you've probably heard we've had a scorcher of a Christmas and Boxing Day here in Perth. Not pleasant at all, lost many of my flowers, and not had much energy to do much other than sit inside with the aircon going most of the day. Oh well, that is Australia for you! All the best for the New Year to you two, and to fellow blog-readers.

Amsterdam
So glad you were able to see a Doc. and he was able to find out what your problem was Judy. I hope you will soon be feeling your old self again. And I'm glad to hear it seems a bit warmer in Amsterdam. By the look of the photos it looks as cold and bleak as Germany did. Perhaps I don't want to experience a winter Christmas after all ! Don't particularly want it as hot as we have had it either, but at least I don't have to go outside in the 41deg heat today to do any sight seeing. I suppose the shops are overflowing with their After Chrissie Sales though. Love Mum

Thanks
Rags will be plaesed that beer is cheap. It's the same in Europe, cheaper to buy beer than coke or water. We are getting tired of the cold weather but saw that it's generally not colder than it is here. We are getting used to the toilet problem. wE saw one at the Stuttgart Railway station (i think) called McCleans but they wanted 1 Euro and 10 cents to use it so needless to say I waited until I got on the train where it's free! We are armed with antibacterial and tissues. Thanks for the advice Judy

Grim
Glad to hear that you enjoyed your cruise. What a pity someone had to come on board and spread their Flu germs with everyone else! But what would one do if the tickets were paid for and one had flown from some far flung country to do the cruise. A dilemma eh? Judy looks decidedly unhappy in the photo and the scenery looks equally so. Very grim and cold. It must be beautiful in the warmer weather though with all the green trees and lovely Germanic buildings. I hope you feel a lot better by the time you arrive in Amsterdam Judy. Not long now and Pat and Jack will be here with me. I am looking forward to seeing them so much. I just hope the weather will be kind to them. 38degs is forecast for Christmas day, a bit daunting. I will probably put my "Sit-me-down" on a chair and stay indoors for the day at Steve and Yvonnes. I'm sure Christmas must be so much more fun in the snow. Love Mum

Cold
Having just come back from HOT Africa, and we're getting quite warm here too, your holidays are looking decidedly cooler every time we look! How is the frosbite? I suppose the amount of food you eat has to do with keeping warm? Cheers and a Merry Christmas to you in cold Europe Love Lucy and Roman

Good Eating
That Pork Knuckle looks good to me !!! The breakfasts don't sound very appertising, but I dare-say people living in colder climates need more than a couple of pieces of toast to keep them warm. Cheers, love Mum

And it looks like you are having a feast, Rags, in that first piccie, I hope you didn't eat all of the food in the Pic !!I feel sure Judy's share is there too. Enjoy the cruise, love Mum

Hi Judy and Rags, I have loved reading your very entertaing blogs, you must be having a wonderful time and seeing so much. I don't blame you for avoiding the swims Judy as it must be freezing, though nice to warm up at the bar later. Thelma asked me to pass on a few thoughts from China. I think the main thing is to avoid drinking any tap water and have bottled, even to wash your mouth out when you clean your teeth. If the water is a bit boring the beer is very good and cheap and you can buy it anywhere (not that I tried it for my teeth). It is not always cold but I think that the weather you will be in will cool it pretty quickly. The best wine is as good as our worst cask stuff and if you fancy some of this take a cork screw with you. I don't know about the spirits and if you pointed a finger at smeone to indicate a measure anything could happen! Language communication is a real problem Take a lot of small packs of tissues with you as toilet paper is not high on their list of prioritys, and anti bacterial hand wash is a must. Speaking of toilets the cleanest western ones were in McDonalds, but most of the others left a lot to be desired. I shall look forward to reading your thoughts on the squats. Always remember to take a hotel card with you as you will find it hard to communicate with the taxi drivers. I hope you have a great time as it is a very interesting country. Stay healthy and if it rains don't slip on the spit!

Cold
Yes, it has turned quite cold now. When Rags was raking this morning he said there was some white stuff which he thought looked like fertilizer but then realised was ice from the overnight frost. We're having second thoughts about the cold weather in China! Enjoy your holiday too. We'll put lots of photos up of the canaries when we get back here next Monday.

added photos
See what you mean about being cold. The photos are good though. Hope you enjoy your stay in the Canary Islands, it will be a bit warmer there. Will look for piccies when you come back, bye now, love Mum
