Our Tuesday morning began as usual with breakfast and quiet time. From there we had a full morning of leveling and grading flower beds as well as laying sod in the park that we spread the dirt at yesterday. The mayor of the town came out to check progress and was amazed at how hard our students were working as well as what a quality job was being done. We were able to complete what they had planned for us by lunch and were able to have an unplanned outing at small creek/river with some trails and areas to swim and explore (videos will be posted later.) We returned home and begin date night. The guys and girls got ready and had some time to talk through what to expect and how to act in a ... read more

This week we are doing quiet times by reading through the book of Philippians. Chapter 2 begins in this way: So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others Chapter 2 begins with the if/then statement that if there is encouragement and comfort from love THEN complete my joy in mind and love. Today our group exemplified this principle. Nothing was done selfishly and everything was done with humility ... read more

Sunday was simply an amazing day! Each night we have a daily debrief where we share a rose (good thing), a thorn (bad thing), and a bud (something we are looking forward to.) Though there are hopefully no major thorns in our days, there is usually something that doesn't go exactly how we want it to. The hope is that the rose and bud are better than our small thorn. During yesterdays rose, bud, thorn over half the group genuinly could not come up with thorn. We begin our day at Keystone Church here in Manhattan. We worshiped with the local congregation and heard a wonderful message on the mercy of God, told through the story of Jonah. I was so proud of our students during the service. At one point some of the students came ... read more

Today officially begin at 5am. Students and parents gathered to give final hugs and prayers to the students before departure. Everything at the airport went great. The kids stayed together and followed instructions and made the whole process very smooth. Our first flight to Denver went great, as did the second flight into Billings. The group had a great lunch at HuHot Mongolian Grill and then went to Scheels Sport store. Scheels can best be described as a Dicks sporting good mixed with a Cabelas sports store. The kids loved it, a little to much making for a change of plans for the rest of the evening and leading to the end of the story with a 10:00pm diner in Manhattan where we are staying. We made it in late and are looking forward to a ... read more

The Great Commission 16 The 11 disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped, but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” We are now just 12 hours away from the Williams Boulevard Baptist Church high school students, and six adult leaders, depart for Montana. At 5 am tomorrow morning we will all be meeting at the church to make ... read more
