Wow! Wow Vic, you're lucky to have seen this. I remember watching the solar eclipse in 1999 - I went to the tip of Portland Bill in Dorset which was near totality.
Did the local birds / frogs seem to notice the eclipse?
Good luck with the insurance interview.
Helen
Eclipse yes - it was very exciting and the wildlife was suddenly very quiet! Today we got to see Venus moving across the sun, which was also pretty cool. Luckily I didn't have to go to the police station for the interview in the end, which was a big relief!
Thanks for the blogs! Hey Vic,
Good to see your back in blogging mode:-) I'm hoping to do the JET program next year (fingers crossed) so I love reading about all your experiences!

Hi Vic
Just caught up with your blogs, sounds like you're having a fun time although the story about the mukade quite put me off my lunch that I was eating at the time. Keep the stories coming
Hi Vic. I\'ts not just Japanese creatures that are nasty. Last week when I went to Vale I got stung on the neck by a bee while walking over Abingdon bridge - hoping this doesn\'t happen today. More later - hope all\'s well

Hey - I love the sound of all the team building exercises! Should try them with some of the classes I have :)
mmmmm - I\'ve had some yummy Okonomiyaki!!
And your Kanji name is fantastic! When I was over there they tried to write my name down in some local newspaper report for some cooking thing Eluned and I did with a group of ladies... and I think they said it came out similar to the word for cow! So really you\'re doing well as an eternally turning beautiful bird!!
I\'m enjoying following your time there...
:) Hey - sounds great! Must be a tad overwhelming at times! I'm always amazed at how knackering teaching can be some days... :) I'll be following your Japanese adventures with great interest...
Thanks for the insights Hey Vic thanks for posting these blogs! I'm thinking of applying for the Jet program this year(in Ireland) and I'm excited to read what it is like for you over there. It does seem difficult to adjust too at first and I imagine it both daunting and rewarding having to immerse yourself in the new language.
Keep em coming:-)
