Getting envious Hello Bob and Val,
I've never looked at a blog before, so I'm not really sure about it and hope I can understand how to use it. You write like a pro.
It's fun to see where you are and what you're doing! You two have such fun together!
Please keep me posted. I don't know how you have time to write with all the interesting places you're visiting.
Love to you,
Jan
Envy Go ahead, rub it in while we poor Southern Californians are awash in some of the heaviest rainfall in decades...OOPS, Is that a two story house that I see floating down Roswell Street? Must check it out...Later...S/Jim
Val and Bob,
Thanks very much for including me in your postings. Your notes from New York are fantastic. I am especially impressed with the excellent photographs - extra wide angle lens and tripod I am guessing? Will you be able to send more messages from the ship - I look forward to hearing (and seeing) more about your trip!
Have a great time - and don't worry about us - we're getting a little (OK a lot!) of rain but I haven't seen anyone starting to build an ark yet.
Take care!
Perry
fascinating Hi there, it all looks to be so beautiful and certainly makes one want to be there to adventure along side these marvelous creatures, the water looks to be so inviting.
Congratulations shellbacks!! Another great blog! I love the pictures. They really make it that much more real to those of us back here. Please say hello to Bruce Cook too. I didn't know he was going on the trip. Anyone else from AoP that I would know?
Best,
Perry
great photos! I really enjoyed seeing your pictures. I especially liked the one with all the yellow-tail surgeons. The story about the tradition of mail delivery is pretty interesting too. It looks like you are having a great time. I hope you will give us a slide show when you get back.
Best,
Perry
Amazing! Hi Val. Your trip sounds amazing. I am SOOO jealous. Your sea lion pictures are amazing. How cool that they were so close to you. Claudia asked if you were coming in today - I said "NO" she is still in the Galapagos!!
Outstanding! Very excited for you both! What a rare and wonderful opportunity to witness such beautiful and bizarre wildlife. Love the blue-footed boobies - even the flying ones!
Keep the blog updates coming!
Fins Up!
Laurie.
Turning the planet around Margaret, I wish you and Steve were with us. You would love it so much. The Lindblad organization is so pro-conservation and sustainability that I am proud of what they are accomplishing. We all have to work together to make changes. Now, at the Amazon, we are experiencing the same with Explorama. Everything this organization does is to portect and preserve the Amazon. Wait 'til you see my photo of me holding a piranha! (Alive!) .......Val
The hybrid iguanas Hey Sarah! Unfortunately they did not take us to the one island where the hybrids have been found. I think it is named Pinza----ask Catherine for the right name. I asked the naturalists and they knew about them but had not seen them themselves. Oh well. My next pictures are going to be awesome. Bob did a GREAT job of taking underwater pix. The others were only teasers. Thanks for the compliments...you taught me all I know pn this blog.---Val
Great Pictures! Val, thanks so much for the travel update. It is so amazing that I can live my dream travel through you. Keep in touch and have a wonderful visit.
Those are some big iguanas! Hi Val. Congrats on the blog that even has pictures in it!! It looks great. I love the picture of those giant iguanas. Hope you are having a fantastic time in the Galapagos. I think it would be hard not to. I'm wondering if you have found the "mixed" iguana there!
I am an Education Volunteer at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California. Before this, I taught in Long Beach high schools for 32 years. Now my husband and I are both retired and are spending as much time as we can traveling to witness the variety of countries and cultures on this planet. In the last ten years we have visited many diverse places: Egypt, China, the Baltic countries, Russia, Argentina, Antarctica, Mexico. This is the first time I have ever thought about blogging. Usually everything gets recorded in a trip diary, and good luck if I can find it again when we are sortin... full info
