Impressed Yes impressed. That's what I am when I see (read) how easily you solve the bigger and smaller problems on your journey. And you guys are living a real culture change. That's so different compared going from europe to Australia. I wish you all the best for your adventure and I hope I'm gonna see you guys again so I can listen to your stories about the great time you are having right now. Enjoy it. Bye
this is a old building "Newer style building in the centre of Shanghai"
Actually this buiding is quite old, probably from 1920-30's.
Have fun in Shanghai.
Way to Go! Another Chinese lesson....Actually,Naicha means milk tea. The way to order bubble tea may be ZhenZhu(pearl)-Naicha, you could try this way, see if it works as in Taiwan. Btw, excellent school life,eh!? All the best
Wow Hi Tobs and Em,
I have finally found time to catch up on your fabulous journey; wow, what a great read. I hope everything is still exciting and going well; both Nette and I are jealous. We both miss you and hope to catch up before you stray too far.
Enjoy this adventure as life can only be measured by your experiences.
All our love and best wishes
Marcus and Nette.
Congratulations! Hi guys, great writing by the way... Am enjoying your episodes.
Congrats on getting into China and getting to your base. Keep it coming!
GO RED WOMBATS! Hey Lucia!
Good luck red wombats! Hope UQ Boxing did well at the end of last season too. I miss playing soccer with you guys, it's not the same kicking the ball around with 15 year olds, I think I may have accidentally crippled a few of them :)
Hi Gregga - we miss you and the housemates too. Good luck with your shop, Jason told me it's nearly good to go. Looking forward to a coffee there when we visit Oz next!
"When we were young..... Hey there you two! Such an adventure packed journey, you'll have plenty to look back on that's for sure. Glad looking helpless is paying off. cheers for now Sue Kohler

What an Experience! Hi - I can relate to a few of those stories from my travels in my youth! Your experiences are fabulous to read , I can feel a travel book coming on!
Take care and remember your contact with Ivy in China
Cheers Kay J
Ah Vietnam Your experiences in the Nam are so similar to mine its uncanny. The cafe sua, the war museum, the ameobic dysentry, and that groovy games room in the palace. South east Asian puppet Governments certainly knew how to entertain, from the looks of things.
Itchy feet Hi you guys! I love and hate reading your blogs!! It sounds fab. But I'm getting really depressed here inside these four walls. No I'm not in prison, I mean stuck at home!! I'm getting really itchy feet. I've been racking my brains of ways to get out there and do some travelling again. I think I'll need to borrow toby, he really should be a travel advisor/tour rep. How do you get all this info? I went round the world and can't even remember what places I went to let alone any history! Must stay off the wine next time!! Well after much thought I'm left with only one option and thats divorce, I can't think of any other way of raising the funds... legally. Poor Brad! Right I'm off to get a marriage licence, hope to see you soon! Take care! x
Good Times You crazy kids. Finally got on this thing, this new fang-dangled intanet is something else isn't it. You're quite a good little writer there Em, you should write travel books for a living! I'm not sure if that bowl of goop will inspire to many people to join you over there but you two make it look like something worth giving a go on your day off! Looking forward to hearing about china too so get writing.
mmiissiinngg yyoouu gguuyyss~~ very happy to hear you guys well. Also, it looks so good to travel by this way.
how is your Chinese visa going? You should tell them that you have been relaxed for a looooooong time... so it's time to work...

We left Australia on 17th January 2008, and headed to China (via south east Asia) to live and work.
In June/July 08 we spent 2 months travelling overland from western Europe back to Asia via the Trans-Siberian railway.
Now back in China for a while.....
