Good afternoon blog readers! It's 12:51 here (so Dom you can go for your lunch break from 'work' if you were here!) We left Pushkar on a bit of a low since we'd been ripped off for our hotel (they made us pay 200Rps extra) and after telling them THREE times that we were leaving at 6am they still locked the front gates!!! Our taxi was waiting outside and we had to brave going past a rabid Alsation dog to knock on the manager's house! Eventually we got to the rat infested Ajmer station and our train was slightly late but we got into Jaipur station about 10am. We got a rickshaw to the airport where we were refused entry by some butch looking woman army person. Disaster. Apparently the airline (Deccan Air) we booked our ... read more

Hello blog readers! Where did I finish off last time? I should really check before doing these things. Anyway, I'll assume it was just before leaving Jaipur to come to Pushkar? We had a really nice table/meal at the rooftop restaurant on the last night in Jaipur on Saturday. However, the tandoori chicken I had didn't settle well and from 2am onwards I needed the toilet about 5 times. Unfortunately neither of us got much sleep even though we'd had such a busy day shopping and sight seeing in the city center. I woke up in the morning and Laura had already packed my bag and everything which was very sweet as I was suffering quite badly. I'd had 4 immodium by then so we braved getting to Jaipur station to catch the #2414 train to ... read more

Hello! A proper blog this time as promised! I'm thinking that the last blog finished when we were just leaving Shimla so we'll go from there... We had another toy train ride from Shimla to Kalka. It's a bit like the Mouse Runner ride at Flamingo Land (Dom, Pete and even Mum! will know what I'm on about) which hurtles you round corners at quite a height. Rather than having lots of screaming children and other rides going on around you, we had the Himalayan foothills to look at instead (probably a bit better). We then had an overnight sleeper train from Kalka to Delhi which was great. We met a couple of Indians from Kerala who told us all about the south (now dead excited) and just chatted generally about India and England. We got ... read more

Hey everybody. This is mega short but sweet because we're having a panic over some of the trains that we're meant to be on. It's a long story we'll do a proper update soon. Currently in Jaipur, was in Agra yesterday (Taj Mahal was amazing but it rained on us) and we're off to Pushkar on Sunday. We'll be back soon!!! Tink and Laura xxxx... read more

Hello again! Ok so we've got a little bit more time now to fill you in on what we've done since Delhi! The Smyle Inn Hotel was great and let us keep the room for the rest of the day because our train wasn't until 9:40pm and check out time was noon. We went for a walk in the afternoon around our hotel area called Paharganj. Saw some amazing markets, got harrassed constantly for rickshaws and went down some back alleys. This was a slight mistake as we soon got a little lost and there were 4 rabid dogs fighting down one of the alleys we needed to go down! Managed to make a little detour and some of the locals were helpful in finding our way back. It was so hot in Delhi we could ... read more

Hello! We only have 15mins to write this quick blog but will probably come back tomorrow and finish it off because the last couple of days have been mental! Anyway, we're finally out of the heat of Delhi and we are now in the gorgeous Himalayan town of Shimla. It is amazing. The views are stunning and the temperature is cool, in fact, very cold at night. We even have hot showers here! The Hotel Dalziel is very nice. We have a great room with awesome views but the 'food' they sell is dire. The 'toast with butter and jam' consisted of mouldy bread jam sandwiches. The 'vegetable noodles' were so hot I nearly had shock! Anyways, you may be wondering about the title of this blog. We were waiting for our train and Old Delhi ... read more

Good evening from Delhi! We woke up pretty early after hardly any sleep due to excitement on Thursday morning before catching a train out of Selly Oak to Moor Street. Managed to get a train to London Marylebone for $3.30 (they don't have a pound sign on these keyboards!). Bummed around London for lunch before getting the tube out to Heathrow Terminal 4 (we were meant to be going out of the new Terminal 5 but it got changed - gutted). Our flight left at 5:20pm but on all the big TV screens in the airport it was on BBC News saying there was a crash at Heathrow which was slightly worrying. The BA Flight was absolutely brilliant. We got fed literally every 2 hours and watched loads of movies (Sex and The City, Phone Booth, ... read more

Hello! This is our first blog to see if it works and so that everybody can see our blog. We've just spread everything we're taking out in my bedroom and we're about to start packing it into our massive bags. We've already checked in online and had a browse through our in-flight entertainment which looks epic! We've already seen which seats we're in for the flight (Laura has the window seat). The weather in Delhi for Friday is very sunny and 36 degrees! Amazingly the sunrise is set for 6am which is exactly the same time our flight gets into Delhi (it will be 1am our time). Keep checking the blog and next time you hear from us we'll be somewhere in India!!! Can't wait!! Tink and Laura xxx... read more
