no words i am so grateful to have read your recounting of this even even though you have already told me about it. reading it was even better. the pictures. i mean, they are only pictures and capture the stunning view, but what you must have been feeling. i wish i could have shared it. the experience was, however for you and aaron to share. a fated meeting it was indeed! you'll always have that memory. be able to go back there in your heart and mind if you choose. there are no words to recount the totality of all that you felt in that moment of time. truly an amazing story. i absolutely love the complex simplicity embedded in your poetry. love you brother!
I loved your post about Abu Galum! It made me really want to go there, and drink fresh juice! My blog is looking for travel reviews, photos, etc, to share. If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email me at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. Continued fun on your travels!
Heather :)
like 1978 Ras Abu Gulam sounds a bit like Dahab way back when -- palm huts on the beach. One or two 'stores'. That was it.
I think I snorkeled here, too. Our commando cars drove right up to the beach. We grabbed our flippers, etc. Walked onto the reef and felt guilty about touching it. As soon as we could, we laid down in the water and breast stroked very gently for a distance. Then the shelf dropped off and there was a canyon filled with the MOST AMAZING corals and sponges and, and, and . . .
wowowow What have you been smoking?
Incredible sentiments and thoughts -- huge in scope. Hang onto their concepts and revisit them.
and
3.5 foot puffer fish? I probably would have fainted!
Wow! That was beautiful Hi Josh,
I just figured out how to get to read your blog. I am not too computer savvey and I have never been able to do this before. Your words moved me so much. I had no idea you were a poet... and a great one at that.

Oy Of course I am very concerned about the flotilla incident. Maybe you should reconsider a longer stay in Egypt. On the other hand, it might be more dangerous to be in Israel! Who knows?
Sounds like you are having an interesting time. We were invited to the cabdrivers home for dinner following our trip to Bet Hashita. He picked us up to drive us to Afula and then to his home. His mother was preparing a feast. Unfortunately I became ill and couldn't go. The whole family was apparently very disappointed. Your trip to the home of the cabdriver reminded me of that.
I was sorry we didn't get to see you in Phila. Your trip sounds like it is off to an amazing start. I will enjoy reading your blogs and I hope to share them with Savta at some point in the trip.
Love you! michele
