Nestled on the side of a clear lake, Tyee Lake Resort is hidden 20 km off the highway down a gravel road. Since I arrived at Tyee Lake Resort just over three weeks ago I have seen loons, geese, deer, osprey, herons, kingfishers, otters, owls and cows. There are lots of bears and cougar in the area, but I haven't spotted any yet myself. The land here is atypical British Columbia. Flat. The view from the lodge reminds me of Algonquin Park in Ontario, especially when the loons calls echo around the lake at night. That said, the creatures I spend most of my time with are still human.
