Seen out the van window, he was happy to chew as I snapped this - we didn't stay too long.
Wildlife abounds here in Jasper National Park. The amount of wildlife is almost overwhelming. We've seen a couple of black bears, coyote, fox, wolf, elk, deer, goats, and bighorn sheep. Going out for a drive usually results in wildlife sightings! No cougars or grizzly bears yet though.

We have been travelling with Melina's parents Doug and Shirlee Hoffman for the past 10 days. A Big Thank-You to them for making this part of the trip happen. The kind of travelling we're doing here requires a car to get around the park. It's been great travelling with them since Calgary. We get along very well and have been living it up!

We've been in Jasper Alberta for the past 4 days and it's stunningly beautiful. The Rocky mountains live up to their name with huge rock faces and cliffs jutting out from vast tracts of forest cut through by winding rivers and splashed with a good number of lakes. The scale of the mountains is awe-inspiring. It feels like early spring here with temperatures 10-14 degrees C in the daytime (that's in the 50's F). We even walked in snow the other day at the bottom of Mount Edith

Cavell, home to a couple of Glaciers. Yesterday we went' to the Miette Hot Springs - ahhh, a nice soak in the warm water feels great after a good hike! Today we drove out to Maligne Lake and luckily we stopped at Maligne Canyon which was even more spectacular to behold. It's very narrow but drops over 50m (150 ft)in some places, twisting and turning in beautiful watercarved arabesques.

More soon!
