Hi Tarjei and Katy!!
Well, this is a normal scene in Brazil. Why don't they duplicate the road?... I am enjoying your beautiful pictures. Tarjei, are you truly enjoying bird watching?
Are you still planning to arrive in Floripa on April?
Best wishes, Caco.
What a fun time !!! Hey TT and K ....what an amazing journey you two are having !!!! The cool place outside of Barre de Navidad. I have been there once in my other life without kids. Stayed in a b and b for about 10$ a night...water was heated by a black tube on the roof. It looks beautiful and I can't believe that Katy has never had a facial before !!! And this is what holidays are for.
Continue the blogs, love you guys..

ps the x-country skiing is magnificent here, but I would rather be there !!!!
TOPES Mexico is such a fascinating country to drive in that it is virtually impossible to manage every topes the way they demand. Sooner or later you're going to be distracted by a 30 year old Datsun pickup loaded with two tons of coconuts topped by 5 small children, or a tarantula ambling across the highway in front of you, or a cross and plastic flowers on a tight curve just above the edge of a cliff, and then you hit one with your breaks full on. This has been the source of much invective from my passenger(s), who prefer not to have violent contact with the roof of the car. I have had to learn to put up with it, knowing full well that Topes take all eventually, without discrimination. So happy to hear that you're enjoying the view from the Casa Azul.

Back to Florianopolis Hi guys, we just came back home from our summer holidays in Santa Catarina highlands. Wonderful blog. We are excited and looking forward to seeing you in person. I already started to sell tickets for a spot by the highway to see your triumphal arrival in Florianopolis in April.
Cheers, Andre and family
miscellaneous I have finally got to your travel blog and read it in its entirety. Very impressive and fun trip. We were familiar with a number of your stops up until Mexico. One of our SGS meetings occurs every other year in Tucson and we now have friends with a nice big house in Cave Creek near Phoenix. Callie's favorite is Jackson Square in New Orleans with antiques and bignes. Also partial to Savannah myself with its functional squares, many lively bars, and great food. So we will now follow as you travel through Mexico and see how it hits us.
On the work front, I do not think I can meet your energy and enthusiasm or total patients seen. However I have been quite busy and am enjoying the closeness of office when driving to and from work. It looks like we have the laparoscopic equipment issue solved and will be doing our first case the end of January - starting with LAVH to get used to the equipment and then on to total hysts.
We are in typical winter here - nice and cold - even got to skate on the lake last Sunday. I am scooping Nick away to Sugarloaf for a boys ski week-end and recharging!
Happy travels to you both.

There is a section in the Sunday Reader in the Journal today about dentistry in Mexico. Apparently very safe, very cheep and very good. It is in Los Algodones dubbed Molar City claims to have the highest density of dentists in the world.
Hope Katy gets better so she can have an even better time! (and Tarjie does not get sick)
Jon says don't forget to pick up the life jacets and rubber raft! They probably have a good deal at wallmart (Waldrmart, the store that must not be names) Ha Ha
HOPE YOU HAVE LIFE VESTS FOR BRAZIL We are trying to figure out where you are. It is kind of difficult. There is a needle pointing to Washington D.C. so we think you might be there but there was also a needle pointed to P.E.I.
Hope you enjoyed Spider Man.
We are still trying to understand the site and can't see any pictures or anything but we will keep following you. It is exciting to be able to use this site as it keeps us in touch.
Life vests and maybe a rubber dingy might be a good thing to bring to Brazil says Jon.
Enjoy!
Fun times Hi you two! Man it sounds like you're having a blast! In recent years I have been drawn to the idea of traveling the States too. I hear there are some fantastic spots that most folk don't know about. North Carolina is one of those spots.
I follow your travels with intense interest.
Take care, be safe I love you both so very much.
Huge hugs from Little Sistah Tine Bo Beana :)
Thank-you and Bon Voyage! Thanks again you two for the lovely Boxing Day get-together. What wonderful friends and kids you have - and I always enjoy the discussions!
Bon Voyage! We'll be thinking of you and I look forward to following you (virtually) on your adventure of a lifetime. Have fun, be careful, enjoy each moment and try to stay outta trouble! If you ever need help I highly suggest calling or e-mailing your MLA ;) (And actually I'm serious about that - don't be shy!) Adios amigos -
Con Mucho Gusto - Lenore xx
