I can't believe you cycled it! Apart from the roads being atrocious and the traffic and dust, it's quite an achievement at that altitude. However it would have given you a unique perspective and the opportunity to see so much more than the average traveller. The rewards of your efforts! Bolivia Gotta admire the challenge of Bolivia by pushbike but wow it'd be spectacular. Yet we both know many roads would be impossible on a pushbike...many as challenging for 4WD is an understatement. Well done on conquering the roads you traveled on.
Mongo bikers! I've been weaving in and out of Bolivia for a few years, and I'm so impressed that you covered so much of that great country on your bikes! But what a way to go--really seeing the country and the people close up. How wise to take Spanish lessons--that will really enrich your journey too! Since you made it through the desert and up to El Alto from La Paz, your Peruvian adventure will be a snap (I hope)! Great adventure!

And I agree, sometimes you really feel like in a science fiction movie when you are in Singapore, particularly around Marina Bay. Thank you Thank you for your kind comments. Malaysia really is a wonderful country. We have just cycled up from Singapore to Mersing and are currently staying on the island of Pulau Tioman.
You commented upon the national athem several times... so you are probably aware that the king wrote/composed it. When I lived in Thailand, the king was revered, but there weren't all the billboard pictures of him and his family. Or people wearing yellow shorts. Today it's more of a personality cult. I wonder how much this has to do with the possible succession as he has been ill for quite a while.

new and interesting breakfast in india I have heard this and saw first time about (beer lao and grasshoppers breakfast ).In India I haven't seen this type of combination in breakfast but think I have to visit once there and had taste beer lao and grasshopper breakfast once and I love to do this type of extraordinary thing . I hope had great taste with Asia Laos Vientiane........ Laos I am coming . and want to enjoy over there ................

Over 5 years have passed since I cycled around the UK and Ireland and the time has come to get back in the ol' saddle. This time I will attempt to initially make the shores of New Zealand, initially cycling through Europe to Istanbul, the gateway to Asia, before following the silk routes through Central Asia and China to the Far East. Following a flight or preferably a boat journey to Australia, I will attempt to cycle across the Nullabor from Perth to Sydney, before heading onwards to New Zealand.
