Yum...Dairy Queen
First off, Happy Anniversary again...how cool is it to celebrate your 1 year anniversary in another country?! None of the rest of us can claim that one! Good you found a place for an early celebration and how appropriate for you to do so with a coffee! The poncho looks...well to use a mother's phrase...interesting...but it's better than nothing! Hope between that, the non-waterproof coat and the umbrella you can combat a few of the raindrops! Love the new pictures...especially the one of you walking down the street. I know Martin is way taller than everyone there...but do you feel the same as well? You look quite a bit taller in the picture but it could be perspective too. Love being able to catch up with you each morning for us/evening for you...in spite of whether the video part works or not! Just nice hearing your voices and knowing that you guys are doing well. By the way, loved your little dance this morning Martin as I sang Happy Anniversary! Hope the day went well for you and sounds like you have some fun things coming up in the next few days...and hang in there like the good kids you are with the program. You're ready to move on, but there is a reason they keep you there for a certain amount of time, and you are seeing it in the kids who whittle away their freetime! :)

Old Married Couple
definitely sounds like you are glad you have each other...so no worries about feeling like the "old married couple". Each day sounds like a new adventure for sure, and of course by the time you get this one down, you will be onto a new adventure at your assigned school! Enjoy the learning as well as the teaching! (Looks like Martin got a haircut...I would imagine he would need it there in the humidity...very nice by the way Martin!)

I am so glad you guys made it! And holy crap about your jacket! I don't know if Clare or Randy told you the fiasco on our end, but i realized as soon as we got in the elevator to head down that I was still holding it! SO i busted a move back out there and ran to the security line and didnt see you guys, so i ran down to the next security line (and then i checked starbucks just in case you stopped for 1 last coffee) and didnt see you guys so I went to the United people and freaked out to them and was like MY FRIEND IS MOVING TO CHINA AND ITS MONSOON SEASON AND SHE NEEDS HER JACKET CAN YOU GET THIS TO THEIR GATE THEIR FLIGHT DOESNT LEAVE FOR AT LEAST ANOHTER HOUR. and they politely shooed me off and told me there was no way to get your coat to you. So I proceeded to try to call the gate itself, alas no luck there. i'm sorry you don't have a coat. wtf. I MISS YOU and love you guys both. Talk to you soon xo

totally understood
I totally understand the emotions that are pouring out of all of us right now...and we've been there before with other family members and will be there again at some other point in life...it's never easy, but we all do come out as a stronger unit for having lived thru these adventures! The tears...all part of it and unfortunately we seem to suffer more from them than some other families we know...they definitely will come at times when we don't want them to, but that's all part of our loving, caring family! Definitely feelings and words to be kept close to your heart and sustain you as you pursue your newest adventure!
