Good learning curve
They say traveling to India is a great learning curve because of how privileged many of us are. Makes you value what you have. http://www.aaronschubert.com is a blog about travel, fun and adventure

hi there
hi, I'm a design student and an architect here in India and I'm researching on the problems that tourists face while finding there way in Indian Cities. Please mail me your comments, ideas, observations on this. I'm based in Delhi and this research is for the improvement of signage systems in the city. Thanks Raman

and had enough of the attention from Indian tourists ('what is your country', 'where you go in India', 'what is your religion', 'please take my photo'... I felt a bit like a former celebrity at times!) " hahahahahaha....thts so true...you call it their inquisitiveness...curiosity whatever..but you can't escape these questions and those stares... though the Religion question is a bit surprising...lollzzzz

Kruger
Hi Peggy, I think a D80 will be fine... I had a D70 plus a 300mm lens for my safaris, and I'd say this is the minimum if you want to get decent close-ups. A 400mm would be ideal, but obviously these are a lot more expensive. I hope you enjoy your trip!

cameras
We are planning a trip to Kruger Nat'l Park in March. I have a Nikon D80....will this work? What type of lenses would you suggest? Also, what to pack?

Nepal
Thanks Dianne. So far it's been an amazing trip. I plan to get to Nepal in mid-November... can't wait for the fresh mountain air and scenery, not to mention the hiking! Better get myself in shape...

Kerala
Sadly not... I'd love to go there, but I've planned an overland route which focuses on the west and north of India. I'll save Kerala for another trip - though I have had a lot of people say it's the best part of India!

Hi I came across your blog and love reading it,it reminds me very much of exactly the same back packing trip that I did i am from South Africa and did the african continent and then onto India but after Bombay we went to Goa which 14 years ago was very different.Nepal is also beautiful, reading this brings back all the memories and I cant wait to get back to Nepal to hike!I did find that the poverty every where in India is heart breaking,Good luck for the rest of India.

Blimey!
You are quite right big guy, I would have found those ladders a challange to say the least! I think it would have taken more than a bit of coaxing and gentle guidance to get me down those!! I'm terrified just looking at the photos!! Well done you, the views look totally out of this world, what an amazing experience. I'm hoping India is a trifle flatter however... :) x
