Hi!
Amazing photos! I did some research on Angkor and I found out that their greatest achievements was not the temples and architecture but what they can do with water! Unfortunately their Hydraulic engineering made Angkor the largest city in the world ( the size of L.A.) before the Industrial Revolution! Amazing!!

Must be nice to have your parents nearby! WHat a wonderful experience you both have in this trip. It will take at least a weak to show all your 'holiday' stories....which mostly can be told in one evening or so. Take care and see you in a few months...x anneke

Yow there, experiencing the greatest hangover of all time in my bed here. Even if what I read would make me enthousiastic in normal conditions, at the moment I do not envy you at all. Visa's, sweat, heat and spiced food are the last things on my mind. But hey, nice to read you're having a good time, enjoy it!

If you can't spend Christmas at home what better place to be than an island in the Indian ocean. A great alternative to cabin fever in icy Ireland

Entertaining and Really Informative
Your Inca Trail post was such a great thing to read as we (of a certain age and physical ability) gear up to do this in June. Learned a lot - seems all about managing expectations. Thanks for sharing! Lesley & Stuart

Does Karin know you called her the devil incarnate. The places look so colourful. I suppose they don't get weeks and months of grey rain

I hope the scuba diving will be as pleasant in the Atlantic waters around Ireland. It sounds like a fantastic experience.

That story of moving the eggs to a safer place is wonderful. Do they always bury them below the high tide line
