We left our hotel in Granada at 9am & walked to the chicken bus station. We asked around & found the bus going to Rivas. We loaded our backpacks on the roof & waited for the bus to fill up with more customers. After 30 minutes the bus was packed tight with people standing all the way down the aisle. When we arrived in Rivas we took 2 taxis to the port of San Jorge on the shores of lake Nicaragua. We were waiting for the chickenboat departure at 1200. Fran, Beth, Michelle, Brad & I rode on the top with the backpacks, it was a smoother crossing on the top (we were sipping some Flor de Cana rum thsi helped as well).
