Today we started helping with the wedding plans. We went to Aberfoyle to Alex’s parents house for a visit, Shane and Chris left to run some errands and Alex and Karla stayed to tried on their fancy dresses. After some laughter we all met up in Stirling for a wander round the town centre. We had a quick stop at home for supper then went out to visit the church where Alex and Chris are getting married, it was a lovely little rural spot made of stone in the middle of a field. We arranged some furniture and took some photos then went back to the house for cheesecake and a movie. K+S x... read more

We packed our bags, and headed down the road to start our next adventure. Our first stop was Lakeland for a quick shop and a fish breakfast Yum!!! After driving through yet another English scattered shower we stoped off in a lake side village by the name of Windermere. The Clouds broke to our delight as we started off on our walk. Windermere is a wonderful little village built on the side of a typical English hill over looking a large lake. There are hourly boat cruises to take many travellers around the lake, we chose to stay on land and fight off extremely large well fed Swans and Canadian Geese. We spent a wonderful afternoon in and out of little shops, till we stumbled upon St. Martian’s Church in the Village Centre. It was originally ... read more

Once up we all went to the village of Garstang for a walk, to go window shopping and then for a bacon bun. After an hour the rain started so we drove to the Barton Grange Garden Centre, we spent time walking round the huge displays of flowers, garden furniture and gift shop then we took a seat in the restaurant. Standing looking at all the cakes and cookies it was hard for all of us to decide which to choose, so we made our final choices and took them to our table to enjoy. Shane then needed a pee so off he heads to the toilet to discover the most unique urinals, they are porcelain flowers of all different shapes and colours, almost too beautiful to pee on. Karla was up bright and breezy ready for the day, Shane took more persuasion but after a quick shower he was ready too. We went off to discover the shopping centres and we enjoyed walking in and out of the shops. After a snack we headed to the train, we took our seats and got ready to enjoy the scenic trip down south to Kendal in the Lake District. The train was incredibly smooth and fast roaring through the countryside at around 100mph. We loved seeing the hills, sheep and stone walls as we moved. Two hours later we arrived in Kendal and were greeted by Karla’s Gran and Stuart who had travelled 6 hours north the day before. We went and dropped the bags off at the hotel then drove down the road to Guys ... read more

After giving hugs to Caroline and Heather at Halifax airport, we checked in and headed on our journey towards the UK. We had a long night flight from Halifax to Iceland where we had two hours stop over and just enough time for breakfast, then back on a plane to Glasgow where we were welcomed by clouds and rain. Karla’s uncle Alex picked us up at the airport and once Shane organized which side of the car to get in we were off up the motorway to his house where we had a Scottish brunch made by auntie Cilla. It was delicious!!! Karla was happy to have some long lost foods and Shane tried new foods such as black pudding. We then headed into the city centre to put our bags in the hotel before exploring ... read more
