I think that travel comes from some deep urge to see the world, like the urge that brings up a worm in an Irish bog to see the moon when it is full ~ Lord Dunsany
Travel for me has always been a passion - an all consuming passion, I love the different cultures.
Travelling for me does not have to be to a different country - I am quite happy exploring all the corners of the country that I am living in while I wait for the opportunity to travel to another country.
What I love about travelling -
The sights, smells, sounds, cuisine and people of different places.
The feeling of being lost.
The experiences that stay etched in my memory - funny things like travelling through South America without knowing any Spanish and where no one speaks English (even at the airports and bus terminals)!!!! Or waiting for a train in Thailand that was 4hrs late!!!
Exploring the amazing landscapes, the lost cultures (and whats left behind), the different architecture, the music.
Seeing the energy of different people from different places and the thoughts and ideas that people have.
Travelling has made tolerant of our differences, has enriched the tapestry of my life, broadened my mind and most of all has made me a well balanced person who has a healthy dose of curiousity to investigate my world.
It is such a privilege to have even seen 1/10 of this amazing planet we call home. My memory is quite useless and I rely on my trusted camera to record my travels. On a quite day, I sit and look at the photos and it all comes flooding back and gets me all excited again, my feet start itching and Im back to surfing the internet looking for somewhere to go.
And my travels wouldnt quite be the same without my amazing travel buddies (mostly Angie) and sometimes Balsy (both my sisters and best friends) :D
