Backyard Exploration - South Island

Due to the recession and the pregnant state of my travel buddy - decided to visit and explore our backyard. Must go again in winter when everything is covered in snow. We decided to fly from Auckland to Queenstown, rent a car from the airport (this would give us the freedom to stop and explores the hundreds of scenic stops in the South Island) and begin our 10 day journey.

Day 1 - Queenstown & Glenorchy.

Day 2 - Milford Sound.

Day 3 - Te Anau.

Day 4 - Invercargill.

Day 5 - Catlins (Dunedin).

Day 6 - Oamaru.

Day 7 - Haast.

Day 8 - Fox Glacier.

Day 9 - Wanaka, Arrowtown then back to Queenstown.

Day 10 - Return car to Queenstown Airport and fly back to Auckland.
