Hey there so La Paz sounds interesting and unique,, so what happened to the turtle did he ever right himself poor little guy? And whats with the 16 hour drinking binge you bad boy and right before your death road ride even worse! your poor bod no wonder you had a hangover its a wonder you could even stand upright! You have met some interesting people and learnt a lot about these places I wonder if there's some way that you could put all this knowledge to use later on to share all you've learnt. You have such an interesting way of teling a story its never boring your english teachers would be proud.

RE: Mum
I have made mistakes in where I have gone in SA and mistakes in not staying in places for longer. I don't have unlimited time, definitely not unlimited and the others were moving on. It made sense at the time, and back then the idea of backtracking in Bolivia didn't seem like a problem because it's so cheap to take buses here.

I guess thats one place you wont be visiting again!!! Its amazing you and all the people on the bus wer'nt blown up in one huge fire ball, can you imagine that happening in the UK, the H&S jobsworths would go nuts!!

Pictures and description of your trek up the volcano look and sound incredible, a memorable part of your trip for sure by the sounds of it. Not having experienced the effects of altitude sickness myself I can't relate, but sounds mildly destructive from all accounts. Good effort on nearly killing yourself!!

RE: Too much to read in one evening!
Cheers bud, good to know you´re still reading! I did consider splitting into five parts but I really needed some sleep before going to the jungle. Next one is done as well, attempting to play catch up as best I can. Hope all´s good with you

Too much to read in one evening!
Hey bud, great read again! You've gone to work on this entry, gotta read it in two parts..But I left it at the trouser ghost - pure genius that!

Ha very funny I'd love to have seen you boys gritting your teeth and chomping at the bit trying to get past the demon horse!! I reckon the leader knew exactly what he was doing with his demon horse,, he's probably well trained to keep reckless young tourists in line and behind... who needs health n safety if you've got a demon horse... I'd love to have seen your face when when a maddened bolivian lady broke into the loo whilst you were sat on it,, can unfortunaltly imagine the horrendous pong you lot made.. it seems that around every corner is a challenge of some sort to deal with whether its trying to find a decent bed or clothes or gathering together the appropriate cash... xx
