Thanks Dave. That was really helpful in planning. Where do they give out the Nobel Prizes in Stockholm? Can you tour the building?

Looking forward
I have only enjoyed ocean-going cruising on Silver Sea and Oceana. I am very much looking forward to my first Ama river cruise. I had never heard of Ama until friends invited me to join a group of like-minded people who have the soul of an explorer as I do. I have devoured all of the available on-line youtube videos about Ama and I am impressed with the owners and the ships themselves. I am a huge fan of Silver Sea's all inclusive packages. I was told Ama is all-inclusive but from this and one other blog that appears not to be the case.

Mostly True
Ama includes all your tours and free flowing beer and wine at lunch and dinner, sparkling wine at breakfast, and plenty of extras at parties. You will be asked to give a € or 2 tip to your daily guides (your choice) and for crew at the end. What Ama has that no other line has are many optional and special edition tours at no extra charge, free bikes on board, a spa and a specialty chef's table restaurant at no extra charge. I have done 22 Ama cruises in the past 5 years. Most importantly and above all, the Ama staff treat you like family (and their repeat ratio proves it).

Tour in Warnemunde
We had such a great time in May. I left a Trip Advisor comment - but want to make sure you know we thought it was a hoot!

Price
I am sorry, I don't remember the exact price as it was 6 years ago. If memory serves, the main boat ride costs 14-16€ and the one off to the side is only 7€.

Buda Hilton - Upgrades
Thanks guys! This photo was taken from my room at the Buda Hilton. When I arrived they offered me an upgrade for $20 more and it gave me a view to the Pest side of the city and overlooking Fisherman's Bastion. I now book those rooms every time I stay. It's a fabulous hotel, superb breakfast buffet, and the Buda side is quaint and quiet. I would not stay on this side if you want qucik and easy access to the shops and the main area of restaurants and bars, etc.

Mega Mecklenburg tour
Celebrity Eclipse, 3rd June - we don't have any choice about our start time as the boat doesn't dock until 9.30 am! Looking forward to it very much, never having visited Germany before.

I think you always have your thinking cap on, Dave. On my tour with you, I would have liked some time in late afternoon to enjoy charming Warnemunde. Now, you're going to make that happen. Smart guy!

CPH - Boat ride
You mentioned to go across and the price is 1/2. Can you tell me, what is price if we get 1/2 price? Then I will have an idea if I pay too much or not. The other is do you remember the tour Boat company that charges 1/2 price? Then I can look for that boat company. Thanks!

Memories....
These photos bring back memories of our fall 2013 Rhine cruise with Dave. Awesome! Such a fun time. And the great people in our group we still stay in touch with. And we consider them and Dave as BFFs.

Love Ama
I haven't traveled with any other river cruise lines, but Ama has provided such excellent service and amenities that I have no desire to (possibly) waste my travel dollars by trying out another line. Please let them know they're doing everything RIGHT!

A Great B & B
Two blocks from the Rijks Plaza, at Ruysdaelkade 75-2 1072 AL Amsterdam Netherlands +31 20 6790485, near lots of local/international, hole-in-the-wall yummy restaurants and street stands, but only for those willing to climb 3 flights that feel like straight up, is the "Between Art and Kitsch" B & B. Irene and Ebo are fantastic hosts and offer great suggestions for what to see and how to get there. They live on the second floor, so you don't have to go far with any questions or concerns that might come up. We were there for 5 glorious days in mid June a few years back. Walking, bussing, boating and even taking the train to Anselm for a day--mostly in clouds and misty weather, we loved every magical moment. The "Market" just a bus ride or long walk away, was an amazing combination of flower, farmer and flea.

Chip & Pin Info
Thanks Dave. Good advice and I'd like to add my own. When we travel, we take different credit cards and ATM cards so if one of us gets pickpocket, we still have working cards with the other person. We photocopy all our relevant information (both sides of cards) and take copies separately and leave a full copy at home with our son so he cancel everything from home!!!!

Copenhagen & Stockholm
Great comments! Having been in Copenhagen,we found it very expensive. Sat at restaurant on water canal and two beers and hamburgs were almost $100.00 US. like the comments on 7/11. We then started going to bakeries etc while visiting for 5 days. We have been to Stockholm once but enjoyed comments and tips. Will wish to see Vasa again. We are booked with you on Sept 26 Germany tour and have referred 8 friends who have also joined. Also looking forward to Helsinki info nas we'll be there Sept 17th. Elwin

Limited time in Stockholm
Thanks for all of the great tips! We have a limited time in Stockholm - 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (presume we should be onboard by 2:00). I'm not quite sure how to rearrange the suggestions to fit that timeframe. Must sees are the Vasa and Gamla Stan. Also, what are your feelings on the value of the Copenhagen card? We are there two days pre-cruise. We eagerly await your tips for our other ports!
