awesome pix Hi folks, my daughter is travelling in the same area where you have taken such beautiful photos. Thank you for sharing them. We live on the other side of the world, on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. It is a real treat for me to see the beauty of this world. Keep up the great work! thanx...
Great Guide and Great Trip Rawley is guide extraordinaire! And a good navigator. We drove about 740 kilometers without incident. Great food and local beers. Remarkable museums in Berlin and great walking. Bought a piece of the wall at the Checkpoint Charlie Museum; verified to be authentic by the DDR! I am not quite sure how that was done, but I have the certificate that states it (for what it is worth). If you are going to Berlin, consider staying at the Park Inn Hotel on Alexander Platz. We had an excellent stay there. In Salzburg, we did the Sound of Music tour with Bob's Tours; it was great. In Munich, we did 2 Radius Tours (that's the name of the company; office is at the main train station, on the side). The Third Reich walking tour with Brendan (from Northern Ireland) was one of the best tours that we have ever done. The Dachau concentration camp tour was also excellent; Steve was our guide. A very sobering experience, but nevertheless, highly recommended.
"A Fun Time was Had by All!" Rawhide, we miss you! We did fine on the night train from Berlin to München and had a lovely visit in Salzburg. Now in München. You were a great guide and interpreter! We thpught abut you a lot on zour birthday and hope it was sehr gut!
Arsenal Hah, London, you love it. Did you take any pics of Highbury while there? Spurs might take that 4th CL spot, but it would be beautiful to lift the Euro Cup and take that spot away from them. Cheers.
Bundesliga Interesting that Aresenal gear would be that controversial. I guess the Champions League does foster more rivalry across Europe. Still, you were probably better off than had you shown up in a Bayern or Hamburg shirt or something.
that punk guy Try this: mentally subtract the gratuitous piercings and the dorsal/lateral hair fins from the "punk", and it kinda looks like you, Rawley.
W.A.M., etc. I liked the fresh primroses at Mozart's grave.
Melissa was smart to wear a hat. What a about the fella who is always cold? Didn't your mother tell you that heat escapes from your head??
Love, Mom
What does it mean? What is "MTV" mean? Is it the American MTV channel?
What does "Pimp My Ride" mean?
Good looking cuff link? A new German purchase?

Danke! We are glad to know your routine. Now we can picture you in the blue flat putting muesli on your yoghurt! The Iditarod (sp) is going on now, I think, in case that sports staion might cover it. RE: food--Try canned peaches, etc. KYNC!
Loved those pictures! You're doing all the work for us, Rawley! A. C. and I are enjoying your journal, especially the architecture of these shots. Keep up the good work! Love, Lucy and A.C.
Armchair review Rawley,
Loved the City Gate picture --really great. I think your mother should enlarge it and then get out her paints! -- sooo interesting. Enjoyed all the pictures - so different from what I see around us. Good luck on your writing draft. It's a unique time in your life and you seem to know it! Co
Did you notice?? For most of your blogs there are some ADS at the top, obviously drawing on words you have mentioned. Where you talk about your missing "linens" (above) there are 3 ads for LUXURY linens! The photo of your bedroom should be in juxtaposition.
dancehall (IMHO) Dancehall is what happened to reggae when it stopped being about peace and love and justice and started being about sex and drugs and shooting cops (and a fair amount of homophobia). It basically is characterized by DJs singing and rapping over original reggae, but faster with other stuff mixed in (drums and bass, etc)... It is the music from Jamaica that made it big in clubs all over the world recently; some of the Jamaican dancehall musicians perform with American musicians now (e.g. Sean Paul), popular in the hiphop scene but fundamentally different than american hip hop. The rhythms are catchy (and familiar) in the same way reggae is because of those roots, but rasta or "consciousness" musicians sometimes resent the comparison. Hope that helps.
hair dye That purple/red dye/reinse is called "henna" and E. Eur. women have been using it for decades. Even a few ladies here in Lburg with recent Eur. background/association like to get that color.
Interesting.
Interesting Rawley,
Geography is far from my "long suit" so I appreciated the map of Europe on another screen. We have friends from The Netherlands who live in Woolwine! They were back visiting family when the husband had a terrible bike accident in the mountain area. He is in rehab and the outcome is still uncertain. Maarten Ankersmit is his name and he was quite the athlete. Hermeen, his wife, came home briefly to take care of taxes, etc. and is back there now. I see that they are your "neighbors". ....a small world!
We are suppose to get snow Sat. That's okay with me. I have plenty of indoor projects waiting. We continue to enjoy the journal and pictures. Sometime tell us all what a typical day or week is like for you.
Take care and keep warm,
Coatesie
Thanks for the photos, script Thanks, Rawley, for a night glimpse of "your town" for now. B and I are enjoying the armchair visit. What kind of items do you need or want that you are not finding to make life comfortable? We just sent off a package to a guy who worked in our Floyd business and is now in Afghanistan (Army Reserves). Not that your living space is much better, either! That area you did not know what to call (kitchen) had some really good cooking equipment. Wish I could come over and cook you up a good meal.
It's a rainy Saturday here and cold weather and maybe snow is predicted Monday. Good for our business so there is a positive side to bad weather.
Stay warm,
Coatesie
