No pictures this time. Sorry.

I wanted to spell out my typical day or week.

I get up anywhere between 8 and 10, watch the Brandenburg tv channel or maybe Eurosport, and write a quick paragraph or two in my thesis. The shower works and I use it. Eurosport was awesome during the Olympics...at least 12 hours a day of live coverage.

I eat dark bread, farm-fresh yogurt, muesli-cereal, garlic salami, cheese, and black tea. Pretty simple and healthy. Not much fruit in the diet here...only apples seem readily available in wintertime.

If it's one of the three days a week (or so) I go to Adlershof or Schoenefeld, I try to hit the road before noon. It takes up to an hour to get there, and sometimes three connections on mass transit are required. Once there, I check email and eat and do my reserach or whatnot. When it gets dark I head back home in time for supper.

If it's like today, when I head "downtown", I take the M4 tram and walk around from there. Not too far at all.

If it's a day I decreed when I would seriously work on my thesis, I stay indoors most of the day. Because I can! One day I never spoke... On a good day I can pump out a lot of pages, but I spend just as much time trying to organize the dern thing.

At supper time, I might go out in the neighborhood. More often than not I grab a doener-kebab from the Turkish place. My neighborhood has an Indian, a Paki, a Porto, a Frog, an Italian, an "American", and a bunch of German restaurants. Plus about four Turkish joints. Food and beer are inexpensive; other beverages are expensive.

After supper, I might head out to meet friends. When I first came here I went out in der Mitte, but now I mostly hang out in my neighborhood. It's cold. Still. Exciting nightlife: went to a "club show" put on by the band fronted by the waitress at the French restaurant. went to the "The New World" at the Berlin film festival, which was a pretty big deal.

We are glad to know your routine. Now we can picture you in the blue flat putting muesli on your yoghurt! The Iditarod (sp) is going on now, I think, in case that sports staion might cover it. RE: food--Try canned peaches, etc. KYNC!
