Ramesh, what a privilege to be traveling. The world has become your text book. What you say about Korean education is true. Any wonder the country ranks very high internationally. America is catching up. Soon common standards of education will be in place in the USA, expecting every K-12/16 student to reach proficient level standards.

Dude I can't believe you had to have surgery in a foreign country. At least you weren't in some third world country or something lol. I like how you act like its sooo hard for you to stay in the same spot for hours, as if you haven't spent that much time playing video games - zelda? smash? haha yeah I think so. Ok man well get some rest, I gotta get back to studying for finals =/

Can't wait to see you!
Ramesh! I really really really miss you! It's hard to sit around these days thinking you're somewhere in another continent. I know it must be hard for you to get ready to say bye to your friends, but everyone at home can't wait for your arrival. I was wondering when you'd post up another blog. Glad you made some time. I hope you're feeling better from your surgery. The way you were describing it just shocked me, but it sounds like you handled it very well. If it was me I'd be totally different. This blog was great as were all the others. I love the pictures and that you posted a video of your kids. The kids are sooo cute and might I say very stylish? They all have such nice coats. Hahaha. The girl dressed as Minnie Mouse is adorable. I wish my parents dressed me like that when I was little. The picture of the boy that you can't help but laugh at is adorable too! He looks so cool in his black coat. Well give me a call or a text when you're back in town. I'll be alert for more blogs. Take care and Happy Holidays!

So Exciting!
Hey Ramesh! Your blogs make great bedtime stories for me. When I read them there's all these different emotions when you tell of your experiences. It's crazy! And it suprises even me. I'm actually saying stuff out loud when I read them like "oh my gosh" and "no way" and "that's so cool". I'm such a loser. Haha. I can't believe you get to live like this for a year. I'm next! I love all your pictures too. Especially the one of the bride. She's so pretty and its so cool to see what a bride looks like from another country. She reminds me a bit of what my mom looked like on her wedding day back in Vietnam. She was dressed in all red too! Random fact: I've never been to any other wedding, but a Vietnamese wedding. So we have our traditions too. I wouldn't know what an American traditional wedding looks like. But that's so cool that the groom carries the bride up bc she can't touch the floor. I should live on the 22nd floor or something and make my future husband do that! LOL. Just kidding! And what luck you have to be meeting all these nice people and making friends so fast. I think that from what I recall, you always had someone see you off when you left and someone there to pick you up. The cities look great. I think karaoke is an all-time favorite for all asian people. You should see the karaoke rooms they set up for people here! They're pretty cool and they remind me of what you described. I should take you to one! Keep up the good work with your adventure.

I Envy You!
Aww Ramesh! You're living my dream. This blog is awesome. Like everyone says, you're great at this. I didn't expect to see pictures too! I don't need to tell you to have fun because I know you are. Keep the blogs coming. I have officially subscribed. Come back with lots of pictures, items, and stories to tell me! I can't wait to hear you go into detail about everything. We're going to have a show and tell session. Haha. Be safe!

Just like I remember it!!!
This is Private First-Class Celano. Reading all about your recently-updated information here on your blog about your arrival in Seoul, South Korea, reminds me of all the time I spent in South Korea during the Korean War. Of course, we didn't get to stay in dorms with other students from around the world like you talk about through your new blog-entries and show in your latest blog-photographs, but the general lay-out of the country sounds still to be the same. Occasionally, we would get RNR days in Seoul during which we would travel to all the glorious sights throughout the city - just like you describe in great detail in these new blog-entries you have posted and show in all these new photos. Still, the Korean lifestyle you talk about is quite different from when we were fighting in the fox-holes and trenches on the front-line during battle. There, we wouldn't get to eat all the exquisite Korean cuisine that you not only tell us about in this blog, but also show us color photographs of! All we ever got to eat in combat were those doggoned MRE's the Army supplied us with. Well, it's time for me to head off to my psychologist appointment - I've been having a lot of flashbacks to wartime lately and he wants to help me talk through it all. Please keep these blog updates coming - they are helping us all live the war, uh, the exchange program through you!! -Private First-Class Celano, U.S. Army

How exciting
Dearest Ramesh, I just loved reading your detailed blog. It was so sweet of JuYoung to come to the airport to pick you up. Say hi to her for me. I would love to hear you carrying on a conversation in Chinese. Pretty soon you will be speaking in Korean. The photos are very nice. Post a picture of your room at yonsei University. It is so hard to believe that my baby is so grown up and so independent. We miss all the action at home - breakdancing, video games, eating ice cream for breakfast, and I can go on and on!!!! Keep up with the blog whenever you get a chance. Patti and thatha send their love. Take care of yourself. Love you.

Hello Ramesh, Looks like you are having fun. I can't believe you missed Jackie Chan! I remember how you used to like his movies. May be one day you will do karate like him :-) Well, looks like you are having fun getting to know people, singing, dancing, eating, talking, etc. etc. Take care Ramesh and know we are thinking of you. Love you. Pathu Chithy and David Chithappa

Rip-off!
I was told by the blog-master a day or two ago to check out the blog because it was being updated. There's not one new thing here! Same old narration, same old photos! What a rip-off, man! I'm starting to wonder if the blogmaster is really over there. He's probably sitting at his house in Redlands at this very moment.................

Duuuude
Dude South Korea looks so cool. It looks like you could never get bored there. "For the first time I felt as though I could maybe learn a language fluently! " - You must have meant a language other than Spanish. Sr Celano reads this remember lol. I like how people drink and sing karaoke in that order. haha thats funny with the random english on the shirts, I want one!

Chinese people must be like the Indian people in their hospitality - to push you out thru the door in a congested railway compartment. Yes, makes sense to always get a berth - rather sleeper. By the way who's that Sally, Sally you frequently mention? Is that the girl you wanted to kiss on your last trip but couldn't 'cos her parents were there. Ha, ha. You are experiencing "everyday" life in China. How awesome. I liked your blog. Uncle Andrew has been asking me start up a blog, but couldn't get beyond the first click. Congratulations. What a way to keep up with family and gossip. Much love, auntie jeeva

big deal
you think thats tight? Yesterday i watched an episode of lost, and some guy was murdered by smoke. im pretty sure its at least based off a true story. Puts things in perspective doesnt it? kind of makes something even as exciting as dou jiang and you tiao seem as boring as bread and milk. Oh wait... I miss you man. Ive been listening to alot of soul music. Al green, marvin gay, and james brown. I download their videos from Napster but superimpose your head on top of theirs, and animate it, so its like your singing "prisoner of love" to me. its pretty cool. You think you have blonging talent? Let me show you a little something: Yesterday me and jaron played with a potato in the front yard for like 2 hours. It was a fantastic potato, and we had an appropriately fantastic time. At first we were just tossing it forth and back, then we started tossing it back and forth. Then suddenly, it came to me: "I need to throw the potato in the air, do a summersault, and then catch the potato as i stabilize myself" Doubt surged through me like a rain of 22 calibur bullets. But i composed myself, though i was i felt like i was tottering on the pit to oblivion. But i did it! and then i went for a 24 hour train ride. Miss you man. come back to the usa please.

Exciting!
Wow, Ramesh! You have already done and seen so much! I admire how you like to live like the locals and see that part of China. Your first entry is incredibly detailed! I can pretend I'm there by looking at your blog and save the air-fare! Look forward to your next entry!

food
Hey Ramesh! It was great reading your blog--sounds like you're a seasoned traveler--train rides and all! Thanks for describing the food in detail---I think you're going to be like 500 pounds when you get back. Hahaha, I can't imagine you that big...ever. Anyways, take care of yourself and be safe!
