Robbie, good call on letting Sister win at cards. Seriously, she freaks out when you peg out before she does . . . . And the last thing we need is Sister freaking out on the Great Wall of China.
Impressive!! The Terracotta warriors are pretty impressive aren't they. Did they have someone there signing books saying he was the farmer who originally discovered them? I always wondered if the guy that was there when I was there was the real deal or just someone they paid to sign books! Sounds like you guys are having a great trip! I'll be looking forward to seeing pictures sometime!
Keep writing! Sounds like you had a good group and guide. The city looks super modern! Are there any old parts that you can also visit to compare? Anxious to see more pictures when you get back!
What a trip! I'm so glad you did this blog - even though I just saw it today! It's been fun reading your chronicles. I'd love to wlak on the Great Wall especially - although I haven't read anything that didn't sound great. Thanks!!
Fun pictures Sarah, is that what they mean when they say hitting the wall? I think I've been there. Fun pictures. Loved the enlightenment one especially.
Busy indeed Hi Guys,
Great photos. I especially liked seeing some of your group. Memories to last a lifetime. Can't believe Robbie is the shopper! Looking forward to seeing the whole photo collection and hearing about the trip in depth.
Have fun.

Umbrella? Can't believe there is really a picture of you using an umbrella. Must have been raining really hard! Sounds like terrific trip with not a lot of down time! What percent of the soldiers have they uncovered? Loved the night picture! Keep having a wonderful time! Can't wait to see more pictures!
warriors What, no cribbage game with the warriors??? Maybe sitting on one of the horses?? I am anxious to see your pictures of Xi'an. What a great trip.
Spectacular Pictures Hi, I just recieved this link from your Mom and I am now playing catch-up on all of your travels. The pictures are fabulous, and the "maze" pun was "great".
robbie the giant maybe you could have a basketball career in china, tall man. and perhaps a military career miss sassypants and her diversionary tactics???
Greetings from Long Beach Hi there -
We love following along with your travels, Tom enjoys the movie and song quotes too! Hope the backpack is working out :-) And by the way, looks like Sarah and I are shoe twins!
WOW! Cribbage on the Great Wall?? Who had that idea?? Now whenever either of you plays cribbage you can say, "When I played while sitting on the Great Wall...." Looking forward to seeing the rest of your pictures.
I'm jealous! Robbie- Hi from Alaska! Steffi emailed me this link so I've been reading up on your trip. On semester at sea I ported in Osaka, visited Kyoto and so far most of the places you've talked about in China. Hearing your comments really make me want to see it again! I'm so glad to hear you guys are having so much fun! Take care and I'll be checking in to read about your trip! Love, Ann
The Great wall!! Thougt I added one, but I probably didn't hit submit--some things never change. So neat you climbed it. The pictures look awesome. It was freezing when Ann was there. It's very neat that you got to stay for a while and really experience it!! I think it's one of those things you have to experience--no picture will do it justice. The walls of the Rillito are way up and the bridge at Dodge is closed. They won't even let news crews on it. My rain gauge said 4.2 inches Saturday and 2 more this morning. Water is up almost to the bicycle bridges and it will probably peak sometime this afternoon (this is Monday here)
Wow, Tianaimen Square! Give some overall impressions of China--from both of you. Does it really appear vast? Feel really crowded? What are the people like and what do they wear Sarah? Anyway, if you don't have time now, hope to hear more when you're home. What a wonderful opportunity!
Robbie and Sarah are taking a trip to China and Japan in July/August of 2006. Follow their journey here (provided they find internet access along the way).... full info
