Japanese Adventure Hi Rosemary. Enjoying following your journey through Japan. Not a country that we have felt was reaching out for us to visit, but you may be changing the view on this. Continue to enjoy and stay safe and well.
China Great descriptions as always Rosemary! I think your blog will assist me in conversations to convince Anne that China is a good destination. Keep enjoying! Go Port!
Thank You Hi Rosemary.
Thanks for your wonderfully informative blog during your epic journey.
It's been great read all the way through, interspersed with some excellent pictorial evidence also.
Safe travels.
Look forward to seeing you both soon.
Regards
Steve.
Oh Canada! So Glad you have both enjoyed Canada. Your blog of Halifax brought back many memories of our 6 months stay there in 2005 when Andrew was on Sabbatical at Dalhousie Uni. We visited Peggy's cove twice once in the August and once in Dec when it was windy and freezing! We also went to Lunenburg and Mahone Bay and other gorgeous little coastal villages nearby and also went to Prince Edward Island of Anne of Green Gables fame. We had a brief 3 day stay in Toronto and went to Niagra falls but sadly didn't get to Montreal - perhaps one day...Very, very cold here (July in Melb is always horrid) and Andrew and I have had the flu ( despite flu shots) and have both had Asthma. Infact, I am writing this from by sick bed. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Jxx
Hi Josie I really loved Halifax and the little of Nova Scotia we saw. I would love to go and spend more time there. Maybe one day and next time with a car! Hope you guys are all well. Love to you all xx
Vicarious travel I have to be disciplined when I read your blogs. I just want to travel everywhere you describe! It's a privilege for those of us lucky enough to have the funds and time to do what you're doing. Keep enjoying it and sharing it!
Thanks John Mind you, I don't put in the boring stuff or M and I squabbling over petty things ? And as to the privilege of being able to do this - I am conscious that this has been a ridiculously indulgent thing to do. I don't quite know why this should be my reality now (it wasn't always...) but I am here for the ride despite the creaking bones and expanding waistline (why are there so many pastries in this world??). Thanks for your kind words xx
We really enjoyed the old city but were very disappointed by what has happened to the Olympic venue. We were only there for a couple of days. Really enjoyed reading your blog.
Hi Colleen Thanks for your comment. We didn't make it to the stadium, but I think they may have been playing a soccer game there that day. Things looked a bit tired and worn I have to say and a lot of the city seemed that way. We are in a Toronto now - many more glitzy buildings here. Money money floating around I suspect.
RP was born a long time ago and was much loved by her family. When she had finished schooling, she travelled to the land of her ancestors, Italy, and fell in love. Not with a person, but rather with the surreal experience of arriving in a place she had never been before and feeling like she had never left. She spent a year in that land and then went back to Oz where she started working. Eventually she married and had three children. Her children have all grown up now, and some have started doing their own travelling. In recent times, RP has returned to Europe and discovered other places she no... full info
