beautiful photos - excellent write up good on you to keep up with your blogging, precious! apart from blogging, do you still keep a journal of what you do where with whom everyday? i hope you do. it's so easy to forget people, places and events once you return home. i drummed this into carmel's head before she left for italy. she's been there since nov 19 and will fly back only on jan 12. i'll forward this blog to carmel. btw, how did you get to teach in japan? what program enabled you to do it? if you have a chance, pls answer this query. thank you. love, tita mil
How lucky you are! Thanksgiving in Japan? Did you ever dream of that? You're so lucky to be able to make the quick side trips to see the famous sites and experience even more of the culture. I love your comments and photos, May. Sounds like you're a natural teacher, too. Keep having fun! Karen
May May May-

Hey! Yay, you finally found a use for all that spare change!
The kids seem weird and cute... and crazyah. I envy you right now: its been 50 and below the last week and I think its going to stay that way just to spite me.
School has been crazy busy, sorry I haven't been able to email you yet :( Enjoy me random comments for now!
games with students Tita Mil, the games are from materials we received at orientation and of course training that we got before starting classes. A lot of them are Japanese games modified for learning English. I'll be here for a year and I live in my own apartment. Some days I will cook, but most of the time I go out to eat because I'm just too tired after school to cook, plus my kitchen is very small, only one burner.
what wonderful experiences!! Precious, I have to thank your Tita Isa for forwarding me your travelblog address. This is the 3rd entry I've read. I can picture you with all the screaming kids. I'm fascinated by the games you use with them - did you learn that when you did your university course? Up to when will you be there? I have stickers that your kids will love, esp coz they're Oz ones. Enjoy every bit of your stay. Btw, do you board? Or, do you have to cook? Keep well. I'll try to write whenever I can.
wasssuuuppp???? Sounds like you're a natural at this teaching thing. Doesn't appear that you have any trouble makers... at least not yet. You just remember that they have to "Respect your Authoritay!" Hope you enjoyed your enkai ... but not too much. May + hang-over + sports + kids= crabby. Keep having fun and I'll write (real mail) to you soon. toodles

The whole school system is so....different! Seems that everything is much more organized.

But I loved the rest of the entry :D They must have really nice white teeth after all that brushing, and no bad breath! yey! (may be this would not be a such a bad habbit to have here in US too)
And thats silly that they drink little fluids while complaining that its "Aitsui" in there. And how dare they make teachers sweep floors D< lol.

Your lessons sound really fun!! :) You really planned it well!! How old are the kids in the 1st grade by the way? (I know that there could be some age differences depending on which country you're in.) And yey for them being excited by getting stickers XD that makes it all easier ^-^
Have fun at the sport festival and teacher party!! :D (you have to win at the sport festival!!! XD lol I can't believe they make teachers compete too!!)

The "running low on fuel" happened to me once. What a pain!!! in my case we had to wait a day for them to get once again in the air <..<', and I'm one of the naive ppl that usually believes them at first. <_<'
I hope you make nice friends there!!! :)
