Oz Great news that you guys are safely in Aussie land, what an adventure. Sounds exciting to have your own little home on wheels( Sheila, what else!) we certainly know what that's all about. Ours is just a wee bit bigger than yours and we have the luxury of air conditioning, it's going to be tough on you guys at night when it's so hot!! Paul, I saw from your email that you guys went diving on the Great Barrier Reef, that must have been some experience, wow!
The two of you are just overdosing on sights, sounds and activities, how are you ever going to go back to "normal" life back in Scotland, ha ha.
Great blogging as usual
Take care Dad.
All I Can Say Is . . . WOW! I am almost speechless and you know what a rarity that is! :) Sheila is adorable and, even though it is hot and humid, perhaps it still is better than a 20-man dormitory? I hope she serves you well on your adventures. BTW, I really do not need a Wolf Spider souvenir when you get here. Really. I appreciate the thought but don't go to the trouble. :) Have fun, stay safe and keep blogging!
Love ya!
katbarnes54@yahoo.co.uk Sounds like you both really enjoyed Asia - you managed to pack a load into your 3 months stay - what a great experience eh, looked lovely. So jealous of those lovely distant sunny beaches. Look forward to hearing from you in Oz and seeing your pics on your next leg of your travels.... Mum x
Asia no more!! Well guys, that's been some experience for the 2 of you in Asia and I'm sure there were a few tears spilled when you departed or maybe that was still the effects of the tequila's!!! Your 3+ months have been filled with such amazing adventures, spending some quality time with friends and sights that as you say, will be with you forever. If the rest of your world trip is half as good as Asia your going to be in for a great time.
Take care
Dad.
coincidences It's amazing how our paths almost crossed! I was in Silay, before Donsol. You came to Donsol to swim with the whale sharks a day after I left, then went on to Silay.
Glad to know you had a lovely time in the Philippines. Hope you find the chance to head back. This time, going North perhaps to check out the rice terraces and caves in cool, breezy Banaue. Happy travels, you two!
Life's a beach!! Ah well Paul it's nice to lie on the beach but it looks like you were on some local brew,,,Kings of Fife indeed,,,tut tut laddie!!!!
On a serious note what a beautiful place and fish and chips better than a chippie back home,,,sounds awesome.
Take care guys,,,Australia beckons!!
Dad.
hi again Hope u found your way to Boracay for more sun and sand. Livelier there, though around this time there should be less visitors because of the overcast sky. More places to lounge and dine too. From Iloilo in Panay, it should be just a bus ride away. Iloilo and Caticlan are in the same island. From Caticlan, a 15-minute boat ride to Boracay.
Food to eat? Try La Paz Batchoy (a noodle dish) or Pancit Molo (a dumpling soup), chicken inasal (barbecued chicken) or lumpia (vegetable roll made from heart of palm). These dishes come from these islands. Happy travels!
Thanks I'd use your photos from this blog , so readers are also led to ur blog. Many thanks. Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday here in the Philippines.
Re: hi there Yeah we thought Randy was a great BIO, he was determined for us to see some of those whale sharks. That's no problem, go ahead and copy them from the blog or send us an email address if that doesn't work. Out in May again - lucky you!
hi there We had the same B.I.O.! We had Randy too, but a day earlier. You are lucky, as I heard many who went a day after we did were not as successful. Randy must have charmed those whale sharks again. Guess what, I'm heading back in May. Hopefully, Randy's playmates are still there. Oh, btw, I had a camera too but never got a chance to snap photos. Would it be ok to "borrow" some of the photos you have? Who knows, they may be the same butandings! Cheers.
Swim with Whale Sharks when/where you can! I took my wife and two kids on a swim with whale sharks tour in Cancun Mexico last summer. It was the experience of a lifetime that we still cannot stop talking about. The company we went with took us from our Playa del Carmen hotel via a private van with air-conditioning to the Cancun ferry port of Puerto Juarez where we left from. The trip was much shorter than if we took a tour from Isla Holbox and we were back at our resort by mid afternoon, and we saw the same whale sharks for roughly the same price. Not only did we swim with the whale sharks but we saw a sea turtle, manta rays, wild dolphins and schools of colorful fish at the coral reef where they took us snorkeling. In my opinion this is the best tour to take when on vacation because it is an adventure and educational experience. I'm not sure how it is in other countries around the world, but in Mexico the tours have to be licensed, so it is important to choose a company that has one. The whale shark tour we chose has their license number displayed on their website, along with a money back guarantee that you swim with whale sharks or your money back! I can go on and on, but if you're in the Yucatan Peninsula then check out this tour:

Little big men! Great updates guys. Wow, imagine being in the Phillipines that is really something but the poverty is the other side of the coin of course.

Be safe guys,,,can't wait to see yous in New Jersey or as they say here,,,,New Joisey!!!
Dad.
Looks Good to Me! I think I am a wee bit jealous of that beach and warm weather right about now. I love the direction sign for Scotland! Wait . . I KNOW I am a bit jealous of that beach . . .
katbarnes54@yahoo.co.uk You lucky things - try not to worry about us going to our work every morning in torrential rain, sleet, snow and high winds - as long as you's ok.... :)
katbarnes54@yahoo.co.uk Well! All I can say is - thank goodness I didnt know about the "tubing" beforehand! Would have been worried sick! As if not dangerous enough - you's also added alcohol! At least now that I've seen the photos I know that you all survived. Have to say tho' - it looked great fun!....Mum x
Tuuuubing! Tubing is a big thing in Texas during the summer months. Been there, done that, only in a MUCH more sedate way! You all did it with style, I must say!
your continuing adventures Hey guys
Great photo's and excellent blogging, thanks for keeping us all up to date. Love the glum looking faces in the "missing the sunshine" photo. Was that the weather or the latest Pars result Paul???
The weather is certainly crazy all over the world just now, what with the mega floods in Australia and over here in the States today the midwest is bracing itself for the biggest storm of the winter. Although Missouri, where we are is going to be hit really hard we're in the southern part so should escape the worst of it. Once again guys enjoy, keep snapping away your photo's and blogging. Take care and be safe.
Dad.
Awesome What an experience! Thanks ever so much for the photos. You're seeing much of "my" history there, historical events I lived through. Great job with the blog! No sunshine here today; in fact, more than 1/3 of the States is under a blizzard warning. We won't get much snow, just chilly with rain/sleet/maybe some snow. Let's all think warm thoughts, eh?
Well Done! Good morning from Missouri, where it has been snowing ever since we got up today. I'm really enjoying reading your collaborative effort here; it is a job well done! The photos are amazing, really capturing your experiences and environment. So glad we get to travel along with you and can't wait to see you later this year!
Love and hugs!
With the taste of visiting India still fresh in our minds and knowing that the rest of the world was out there to be explored – we decided to quit the 9-5 routine and buy a ‘round the world ticket’ since time doesn’t stand still for anyone!!
We’re writing this blog so our family and friends back home can be kept updated with our adventures!
We plan to travel South East Asia for 3 and a half months (hopefully covering Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia and Singapore), then onto Australia for almost 6 months, New Zealand for 2 months and finally America for 6 weeks!!... full info
