Travel Guide Wow, hope you had a great time in SF, it truly is a remarkable city. I have lived here for 4 years now, and I am putting together a internet TV show based around local hotspots in San Francisco. Even though your trip has come to an end, maybe there are a few tips for future travels.

Haste ye back! Tina and Paul
Glad you enjoyed the visit, still hard to believe that after waiting so long for you to visit us that's it's just flew in so quickly but we had brilliant week together. We wish that the weather had been a wee bit kinder but we did have a couple of nice sunny days in the mix. We really enjoyed our games of Yahtzee, Scrabble, Texas Hold'em and at last we learned the rules for Anti-Monopoly after Paul studied the rules. It seems so quiet now that you've moved on to the "big apple" but you've left us with some very happy memories. We just have to do this again and our bed will always be your bed when you head stateside next time. Betty, Maggie and I wish you all the luck in the world when you head to Australia in 2012. In the meantime have a blast in New York.
All our love,,,,Dad.
Great blog entry Great blog entry - Vegas sounds amazing - the pictures are really good - sounds like you's had a great time - just a wee bit different from like on the farm in Oz. Hope you's have nice stay in New Jersey with your dad and Betty. See you both soon - Mum x Ps: The grannies in the hotel casino playing on the fruit machine - was me and my pals - we had a good nite :)
Superstars Great report guys and glad to know by now that you survived LA in one piece. I wonder when the Dr Phil show will be aired, we'll check it out from tonight and hope to see our 2 world travelers. Well, we're definitely ready to welcome you to New Jersey, seems crazy and hard to believe but we'll see you guys tomorrow.
Take care, hope your enjoying DC.
Dad.
Welcome to the States!! Hi Guys
That must have been some flight from New Zealand to the States,,,17 hours sheeeesh and I though it was a long flight from the usa to the uk. I guess you guys will be heading to DC fairly soon, that's were Betty and I met in person for the first time, it's a fascinating city and you'll love your time there. Betty is going to have a crazy cleaning time this weekend to get ready for your visit here in New Jersey and let's just keep our fingers crossed that the weather will be kind during your visit as it's been one hell of a year for crazy weather.
Take care and see you guys real soon.
Love from dad.
The City by the Bay Finally some photos of someplace I recognize! :) So cool you stayed in Chinatown. Glad you enjoyed SF. We'll see you guys in just about a week!
re: sky diving blog Great to see the pictures - after the event ! Really, really pleased that you didn't tell me about this beforehand - before you both went on your year's trip - the thing that really worried me was that you's might decide to jump out of an aeroplane or something! - I'm just so relieved that you're both still alive :) really looking forward to seeing you both soon - in boring old Scotland XXX
Wow! I am so impressed with your latest adrenaline fix and almost wish I had the guts to do that. My Dad, who made a few jumps (not by choice, mind you) during WWII. He used to say he never could understand why anyone would want to jump from a perfectly good airplane . . . :) Don't know that we can match the adrenaline rush, but we sure are looking forward to having you both with us! Very well-written entry, as usual; really enjoying your blog. See ya soon!
Hey guys that was just awesome, you are truly a pair of adventure junkies, well done for showing such bottle. I just hope your not too bored when you visit New Jersey as an exciting time for us is playing Yahtzee in the evening!!!!
see yous soon
dad.
Paul the burger king Guys, it just get's better and better. I know I'm repeating myself but the scenery is absolutely stunning, so much volcanic activity going on by the look of your great photo's. New Zealand is definitely a country I would love to visit. Btw Tina, Betty and I had can attest to Paul's burger eating prowess as we watched awe struck as he demolished a good sized one during his last visit to the States. This was when we were back in Cedar Park, Texas at Chili's Bar and Grill. Most people cut the burger's in half as it's more manageable but not our Paul,,,, it was a matter of pride to eat his "as is". It was scary to watch. Well Tina and Paul, it's Oct 27th and I guess you'll be thinking about hitting the west coast of the States on Nov 1st eh? Long flight from New Zealand but it will be worth it guys. We just can't wait to see the 2 of you in a few weeks time.
Take care and stay safe
Dad.
Hi guys
New Zealand,,,wow, I didn\'t realise just how beautiful it is and there\'s a lot more to see apart from sheep!!
Those snow capped mountains are simply awesome, such scenery. Paul, I\'ll have to find out exactly where that incredibly steep street is, steepest in the world eh,,,no chance of cycling up that even on the smallest granny gear ever!! Must have been a shock to see the devastation of Christchurch recovering from the earthquake earthquake. Btw, love the photos.
Take care guys and we\'ll see the 2 of you soon.
Dad
New Zealand Hi guys
Great blog as usual and great pics. New Zealand should be interesting (more sheep) and looking forward to your updates. Betty and I are counting the days till you get Stateside and hook up with us in November here in New Jersey. It's Autumn now or I suppose Fall as they call it here and the trees are starting to turn a beautiful shade of yellows and reds. It's definitely the best time of year with much cooler conditions but very wet as well. Don't know what it will be like by mid November but snow is always a possibility!! Take care Tina and Paul/ Pauline or whatever yer calling yourself pal,,,ha ha,,,Betty is fine with you borrowing her makeup and lippy btw!!!!
Lot's of love from the both of us.
Dad.
Guys
That was a brilliant blog with great pics, well worth the wait. You 2 have done Scotland proud, the haggis night sounded like a hoot and what an effort from the both of you. Mind you, be careful what you say when you\'ve had a few beers, you might have to live up to your boasting but you came through with honours,,,total class guys.
So it\'s off to New Zealand for our 2 intrepid travelers, Betty and I are so ready for yous in November, can\'t believe it\'s so close. We\'re praying that the weather calms down here for the 2 of yous, it\'s been a crazy couple of months here!!
Take care and enjoy New Zealand,,, love from both of us.
What a Terrific Write-Up! Although I have so enjoyed your blog posts, this is IMHO the best ever! What an experience! Our staying at a working sheep farm B&B in Scotland while I was there fades to dull in the light of your experience. What incredible memories you now have. Um . . . relax, I won\'t ask you to prepare haggis while you\'re with us. Really. Don't bother. ;) Now, on the other hand, we could have a tamale-making party if you wish. Much more fun, less work and certainly less . . . odorous! Thanks for sharing this. Can\'t wait to see you both! Much love to ya'll!
Nice house Really glad you's have now got a nice wee house - just hope you's havent been traumatised for life over the 'nasty hostel' - I'm sure you's are made of stronger stuff :)
Thats great that you both have jobs - must be a shock to the system to be back on the 9-5 routine - at least you know its only for a few months. Perth looks a lovely place - enjoy and take care - you lucky things..... always thinking about you's..... Mum x
Perth Glad you guys have found a nice play to stay, sounds very cosy and must be heaven going from the ridiculous to the sublime with that nasty hostel in mind. You've both done so well finding jobs and that should help the finances a whole lot, nice 1. Betty and I are so excited about having you here in New Jersey and now it seems a lot closer not just in the distant future. Hope things continue to go your way and stay safe guys.
Dad.
Now That's a Camping Photo! Nothing better than sitting around camp with good friends in nice weather! I'm a wee bit jealous of the shorts and flip-flops!
katbarnes54@yahoo.co.uk Dont blame you for dropping the croc Tina - they're not exactly cuddly material. Love Skippy tho - can you bring him back with you? :) Katrina x
katbarnes54@yahoo.co.uk G'day travellers! Glad you got to Oz ok - love the van - you's look the part now eh. And true to form - you's get straight into your adventures - snakes and crocodiles are one thing - but SPIDERS - think you's should pack up and come home :) mum x
With the taste of visiting India still fresh in our minds and knowing that the rest of the world was out there to be explored – we decided to quit the 9-5 routine and buy a ‘round the world ticket’ since time doesn’t stand still for anyone!!
We’re writing this blog so our family and friends back home can be kept updated with our adventures!
We plan to travel South East Asia for 3 and a half months (hopefully covering Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia and Singapore), then onto Australia for almost 6 months, New Zealand for 2 months and finally America for 6 weeks!!... full info
