I wasn't quite sure what to expect out of Madrid. All I knew before leaving was that I had a four day orientation planned out by my Spanish professor of culture. Essentially, I showed up in Madrid and left all planning and control in the hands of Reyes, my culture professor, and Susana, native Madrilena and best guide on the face of the planet. After a long day of traveling and less than six hours of sleep in the previous two days, I arrived at the hotel in Madrid, heaved my pack on the floor, changed my clothes and walked out the door to meet up with Reyes and the other three students from KU.
