Congratulations and Safe Return Have just read the final blog; we will miss Bill's stories and the wonderful accompanying photographs - it has been a pleasure to be part of your trip (albeit from the comfort of our kitchen). Looking forward to seeing you safely back in Shropshire for Christmas - well done on your magnificant achievement. x
Bon retour home! Welcome home boys, and bravo for completing your gruelling but exceedingly rewarding trek - can't believe it has all come to an end, as has our 'armchair' view of Sth America!! You have entertained us all so brilliantly and not to have another instalment to look forward to is soooo sad! But can't wait to see you both, all safe and sound. Bon retour. Hugs and love. Mummy B
BRAVO!!!!!!!!!! WELL DONE BOYS!
Not much more one can say to congratulate you. Despite the high mileage covered, it does not take into account the difficulties of those mountains and terrain.
What a journey to remember. Also, how's the spanish?
See you soon!
Love Auntie Claire
PS - Don't forget my xmas presy - the llama of course!
WOW! Keep going guys...what you're doing is incredible!!!
Showed my kids some of your pics..they wouldn't beleive me that you were actually doing it until i gave them photographic evidence! Demanding or what!!! They all say KEEP GOING and WELL DONE!!!!!!!!
Am so proud of you!Keep it up!
Lots of love Kate xxxxxxx
I can't tell you how impressed I am. Not only have you accomplished so much but on your days off spend the time doing the blog. It is fascinating and probably the nearest I will come to Bolivia Peru etc. Great photos.
Stop lollygagging around in swimming pools! Well done gauchos, you are making good progress, it must be good/sad to know that the end is in sight. Bill, you must be particularly upset with your tumble after abstaining for so long, especially at the hands of a bird. Your Mum gave my Mum some of your chillies which she asked me to thank you for and she and the old man send you both their best wishes. Sorry to hear about your rimms......., it sounds like a bit of a problim. I hope the bikes can stand up to the whole of this epic journey with you. Anyhoo as Tom said, there will be some Pints of Shropshire Gold and some pistashio nuts waiting for you both on your return. Look after yourselves guys and look forward to seeing you soon.
P.S. Ross please don't shave until I have seen the full beard.
P.P.S. You too Bill...... gaggs.
well done so far well, i thought you would of given up by now Ross ! Well done for keeping with it. What memories to have eh ? Great.
All the best
Teresa (Oakleys)
bien trabajo! Well done so far - very impressed after reading your blogs, makes all the work I have to do at school seem feeble!! Hope you are both managing to enjoy it as well. You are barely recognisable in the photos... Looking forward to your return! Love Charlie x

Max folkes Good to hear you boys aren't dead yet (going to lose a few bets here i think!) - ross, looks like your morphed into folkes in that picture above as well!!
keep on trucking, get back safe!
ps, dont think i will ever stop laughing if your bike doesnt make it bill!!
Oakleys Fuel Oils - Good Luck Ross - Keep going and good luck from all at Oakley's Fuel oils. Fantastic Pics and stories wonderful experience for you both.
Great to hear from you boys again... Susie can now sleep easy! With the way we precipitate ourselves to the computer every morning in great anticipation of an 'interesting read' you would think we don't have a life! And it has to be said we proberbly don't in comparison to what you two , or rather you three!, are experiencing! Sounds and looks simply a la Bill 'awsome'! Would like a few portrait photos of each of you, please, sporting sun blistering blisters 'n all. Am intrigued as to how well shaven Bill always appears as apposed to Ross' Talibanesque visage - there must be some military discipline being practised - most impressed! Also would like to see evidence of the transformed sylph-like figures, slim, fit, bronzed and beautiful, so I'm given to understand! Thank you Raphael for being the welcome banker/translator/bike trouble-shooter/ allround moral supporter which is much appreciated from both continents! Seriously tough and'chapeau' to your extraordinary endeavours with tenacity to keep peddling, even when the occasional window of opportunity tempts one to swallow miles by othe rmeans! Well done so far and thanks for sharing your journey with us so articulately and beautifully. xxxx Mummy B
guys, cannot believe how much you have done already. doesn't seem long ago that ross was pedalling this dubious idea that i (foolishly) doubted he would ever get organised to do! it all sounds so amazing, the blog is awesome and provides a seriously necessary distraction from the delight that is studying law. i particularly enjoyed the trogladyte attempts to clear some mines with big stones.speaking of cavemen, sounds like ross is having more baths out there than he would usually have back home, which has got to be a massive relief i imagine, given the amount of miles you guys are demolishing daily on your bikes. looks like an impressive beard is being grown also. hugely jealous, but really pleased its all been going so well for you guys so far. good luck with the last bit, looking forward to seeing you's when you get back. x
Get on with it! Some really incredible reading! Great photos too, Ross you are beginning to bear a striking resemblance to this guy who hangs around near the bus station foraging in bins. Bill, I particularly enjoyed reading about the penknife/ garlic/ small chopping board incident, sounded tough, but you've got to take the rough with the smooth I suppose. Good luck with the final stint, cant believe you have cycled that far already! There will be a beer waiting in the Riverside on your return!
great work hi guys
sounds like you guys are having a very interesting time out there. lots of hard work, rather you than me.
great photos, and great commentary.
hope to see you back soon bill, all in 1 piece.
till then
goodbye

Thanks to all for such great support and especially to those who donated funds. In the end we did it!
I have noticed that there are still plenty of people reading this blog. Before and during our trip I read many blogs like ours in order to research what we were getting ourselves into. Seeing that there are still people visiting our site leads me to believe that other tour cyclists are doing research just like we did. If you fall under this category then do feel free to get in touch. I am more than happy to help as I remember how daunting the whole thing was.
