Thomas I am not sure I remember... I do remember a fun day out, but not the tap water discussion. Maybe you can remind me in an email or something..? We have just finished the physics and RDP exam. So only 1 more then all theory exams is compete. Happy happy! :)
Drinking the tap water?? this reminds me of our tap-water discussion in Soho in 2003, Nina.. remember that? if not I can put that MOVIE out.. :D
If u go to Thailand, (when) dont drink that tap-water. I am about to stop that here in so-called-clean-Norway(as-we-like-to-belive) too.... Stay cool! C ya!
I cannot believe it... After spending 5 years with Joachim in university...I cannot believe he FINALLY has learned how to study! Good thing there is no mens hockey league in Mauritius!!! Remember buddy...not all the answers are in the appendix!
quite the opposite, but still enjoyable.. great blog guys! I particularly like the sunny pictures (and joey's balancing acts..) anyway, I'm happy to report from Norway that this weekend we had a major snowfall!! Dream weekend in Hemsedal with Ollie, David, LT, Peter and Bendik.. Too much wind to ride the top lifts, but it didn't matter as we spent all our time pumping knee and hip deep powder in the woods and along the Roni ridges! My muscles are aching too much now to write any more..
Super Hi u 2, nice to see that Joachim has found a new profession at Bruno's, hope he is not only interested in tasting the cheep local beer ;-). Best regards from stormy Bremen.
Yum yum! Can you cook me a curry please on your return?! Am sure you are not missing Bean Counting, hearing all your Stories! Keep up the adventures and keep up with keeping us posted!! Bon Apetit..!!!!!X
A really good looking chef's assistant in that restaurant! Sounds like you guys have all the fun! It's so entertaining to read about all the things you are doing. I'm quite envious. The chef's costume really suits you Joachim! :-) I wish you both all the best, and if I can get Trondebass (not sure how you spell that...) to work some more ;-)), maybe we can come and visit you guys. Lots of love.
Why some buses are painted and some not ? Nina and Joachim are wonderful persons. I personally met them as i had the chance to have them on board of Lecapitaine Tourist Residence at Tombeau Bay for some 2 weeks time, and it looks as if that we know ourselves since long years.
Long long ago, the public transport were run by some well known buses companies like the CNT(Compagnie nationale de Transport) their buses are painted in blue, The Rose Hill Transport, Buses painted in red, the UBS ( United Bus Service ) Buses painted in red and white. Apart from these buses companies, you get other rural buses companies like Triolet bus Bompany (TBS) buses painted in red and white, The Mauritian Bus Transport (MBT) buses painted in yellow and white and their numbers all finish by 747.
In 1971 / 1972, there was a big general strike in Mauritius and the transport was heavily penalised and Government introduced public transport run by individuals. One owner could have only one bus and operate it on a line and there were many individuals running individual bus. These individuals, most of them, named their buses with different kind of names like Nina says " King of Love ", and these individual buses are all painted differently with colourful colours and odd and interesting phrases are displayed on them.

We are a Norwegian/Canadian 30-something couple that have decided to do some longer term travelling before settling down. With no kids or mortgage, we recognised it wouldn't get much more convenient as we got on in years. Whatever happens, we are looking forward to a great learning experience.
After making a farewell tour to Norway in November 2006, we took off for Mauritius in December 2006 and became PADI Divemasters. We then moved on to Phuket, Thailand in March 2007 and completed our PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course in April 2007. We worked for 2 months on Koh Phi Phi and div... full info
