Scuba Instructors Congratulations.
So now you can be instructors anywhere in the world?
Maybe you can come one day to Norway to teach us diving?
Some areas in Norway are famous for diving with good visibility.
Good luck with instructor jobs. Koh Phi Phi is a nice place.
envy We envy you guys, it seems like you have a lot of fun. Here in Oslo spring, or should we say summer, arrived this week. Today (sunday) our little family is enjoying the sun in our garden, and Jenny is sitting in her chair gurgling and shouting as she approaches her 3rd month anniversary. This weekend Matti was in town, and we and lots of friends (ThomasJ, Marta, RockeTrond, Haakon etc. Jarle was in Prague) got a good night on the town Friday with utepils, 2 concerts, blues pub, kebab and lots of beers. Btw: Unnarennet will this year happen on Saturday 26th of May. You heard it here first.
Finally discovered the secrets of massage? Hey Joey & Nina! Seems as if everything is going well your end - very good to hear! As probably most of the people you are sending your blog to I envy you tremendously as I have to sit in a steamy office with a stupid Irishman... Well, other than that Switzerland is getting nicer as spring time is coming, had the first barbecue last week-end with Astrid who was over for visit from berlin. Also, Lake Geneva is ideal to sunbathe and swim - so a good summer location to live in. I'll be also off for a meager 10-day vacation - to Florida (Miami, Keys, Gulf Coast) and hopefully I win the lottery so that I can quit my work...:) Anyhow, the important thing is that you guys have fun and enjoy yourselves. All the best, big klems and à bientôt, Lars
Good luck! Lykke til! Viel Glück! ;-) Hi Guys,
Good luck for exam, we'll keep our fingers crossed. So we can do our next padi course with you as instructors ;-).
Take care,
Stefan and Steffi
Re: good ideas for where to go?
Hi Bobil-Jimmy! Exiting days for you guys breaking up in Amsterdam and moving somewhere new. We look forward to see you in August/September, now sure where we will be, but there is always a plane/train/bus or ferry.. :) Thank you for the tip we will check it out. Got a girl for China in our course, she might have some local knowledge to share. Chat on msn soon, Nina
Re: Settling in on Kata Beach - Phuket - Thailand TJ, Renting a car is probably a very good idea if you are staying awhile, but since we don't know how long we are staying here we find it easy just to grab a scooter for 150baht a day... Even I am learning to drive now. :) BUT Loads of thank you for the offer Thomas! Spk Soon, Nina
Re. Study and then some fun around on Koh Phuket Hi Freedom Seeker Tina,
Thank you for your nice words. www.travelblog.org is a free blog tool, unfortunately we cannot control the advertising nor add link to friends. We have considered to use another tool for blogging, but for now we are too settled in on this one. AND we have no time, need to focus on the instructor course.. :) I have been reading your blog and you have interesting articles and I will watch your blog with great interest. Hope Paul and you will make it to out and about soon! :) Just do it, if you regret you can always just hop on the first plane home. See you, Nina
good ideas for where to go? Good to see that you are enjoying the good life with warm weather and nice food.
We are now soon leaving Amsterdam, already resigned my job and the flat on notice too.
Departure date is 7.May.
We might go traveling to Asia in August for about 45days, so don't be surprised to see us around!
When it comes a good place for working as dive instructors. I would suggest Hainan island, Chinese territory, a bit off the beaten track.
Not many western tourists there, no Western charter flights yet, but it is close to HongKong. $$$!
Chinese economy is doing well, Hainan is a nice island with clear waters and warm weather.
Growth potensial for dive instructors is bigger for Hainan than Thailand where the competition is already fierce.
fine bilder.. hei på dere..bra å høre at alt er vel..det er det her oxo med påske om ørene i løpet at noen dager...dere får ta for dere av det som er å finne på og reflektere godt over tingene som skjer...klem fra onkel a...
Helloooo!!! Hi there. I'm a friend of Oli - back in the UK - Tina... I love your blog... I noticed you have some google ads - have you managed to generate any money from them?
Me and Paul are also in our 30's - no mortgage, no kids... thinking of doing what you are doing, but currently don't have enough funds, and currently too afraid to leave our businesses behind... Your blog has been an inspiration....
I also have a blog www.escapengland.blogspot.com - I'll put a link to your blog on there... maybe you would be kind enough to put a link to mine on your blog??
I'm glad Oli has met some nice people there in Phuket....
Bye bye and good luck with your instructor course...!!!

Fun Reading through your blog I can see that you are having a lot of fun. In the matter of fact if I imagine this kind of adventure I would be exactly what are you doing . I am happy for you and wish you all the best for adventure. It is getting wormer in London and what is more important to me the days are getting longer (at least there is a chance to get out of the office when it is not dark already) so our spirits are also getting higher. We are slowly preparing for move to Zurich that will most probably take place in June. I am also preparing for my family to expand as my wife is pregnant and we are expecting a baby at the end of July. I enjoy your blog very much. Cheers, Marek
fun in tropical weather Good to see that you are having some action in the hot tropical weather.
We are now in Istanbul, took 17 days holiday. Last holiday before relocation back to Norway.
Here is it cold, only 14 degrees in day time, it will get colder when we go up to the mountains soon, Cappadocia.
Well, good thing I left on thursday evening... My plane from Reunion Island to Paris has been delayed, but we arrived early thanks to powerful jet streams.
I took a couple of pics from the window. Seen from up there, it didn't look that bad...
Take care !

We are a Norwegian/Canadian 30-something couple that have decided to do some longer term travelling before settling down. With no kids or mortgage, we recognised it wouldn't get much more convenient as we got on in years. Whatever happens, we are looking forward to a great learning experience.
After making a farewell tour to Norway in November 2006, we took off for Mauritius in December 2006 and became PADI Divemasters. We then moved on to Phuket, Thailand in March 2007 and completed our PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course in April 2007. We worked for 2 months on Koh Phi Phi and div... full info
