After 2 weeks of going to school in La Paz, we were feeling a little overwhelmed with all that you need to know to learn Spanish. My French has been kicking into high gear- and the little that I learned through high school keeps surfacing. I keep trying to say things in French, thinking that it is another language so it must be spanish. Go figure! The first week of classes, the only other student with us was French, not speaking any English. That didn’t help me any! He kept using french words, which just added to my french repertoire. Luckily, the teacher understood both- so between us, we could understand a little bit of each other. Mark on the other hand, would just watch the conversation such as it was, and nod accordingly.
