Thanks for yet another entertaining account! Hi Dad! Small Corn Island sounds unbelievable! What a fantastic adventure you're having. Way to go with your "catching" - our little fishng adventure in the Laurentians can't quite compare, eh? ;) I love your account of the geography and people, and of course your friendly parrot. Great pic, by the way! And what is that interesting bit of architecture on your last image?
Wishing you a wonderful last two weeks in your great winter getaway. It is STARTING to feel like spring here. Hope it holds up for your return.
Lots of love,
Sofie
In punts cana Not quite Belise but warm. Arrived today so we are tired. The customs took over 2 hours - really pissed, just a lot of people arriving at the same time. Room and pool are nice and food seems good. So we will forge on suffering under the service which seems good. Phil says things are good at YOO and had lunch with Connexient today. Keeps sending the trip updates.
Sounds like a tasty experience More jealous than the last blog - how many lobster did you eat? Good that you didn't find a manatee because those suckers are huge and scary looking (apparently harmless but . . .). Looks like a great time. Heading for the Dominican next week but just to a standard resort. No raggamuffins there. Continue to party. Ross
Your amazing adventure continues! Thanks so mcuh for sharing, Dad! Your accounts are always so fun to read - can't wait to hear even more, eventually. Wonderful shots, too! Gorgeous fish, gorgeous blue water, and I love the reflection of the sun off the crane's back. Keep up the great vacationing!
Love, Sofie
I could take some Belizean winter! Sounds like a very interesting place you're staying at, Dad - both in terms of guests and the way it's set up. I also love that there are no franchises where you are and that it's so friendly. It's a paradise! Thanks for sharing.

Oh dear! Dad,
Very entertaining blog entry! I think you have a budding career as a travel writer. ?
You'really a natural.
Love the photos of your hoovedreams and flippers friends. Is it hard to forgive them their gourmand transgressions?
Xoxo Sofie
Caught the bug Hi Peter, you havent caught the travel bug by any chance? Delighted to hear if you have - wonderful experiences to be had along the way. This island looks rather lovely - so different from Toronto. Geoff and I are off to France on Friday for 3 months - can't wait to have what is almost an extended summer. We now have a boat, to go with our bikes - no car! All good fun and trying to make the most of it.
Enjoy your time out West.
Best wishes,
Jan and Geoff
Great trip -- will emulate soon! But I'm going to be doing it on my motorbike...leaving June 19, stop to see my brother in Saskatoon, and then who knows! Cheers mate
Thanks for this detailed account! It sounds like the trek across "countries" was an eye-opening experience. It must have been interesting to see first-hand some of the building blocks of our industries. Cortes looks lush and beautiful too. Jealous about the fresh seafood! Sofie xox
your photos Hi Peter,
Your photos make me remember what it was like to feel warm. I guess I'll get to experience that again firsthand when summer arrives here in 5 months or so. Glad you are having such a great trip!
Hi Dad!
Amazing photography! In addition to becoming a yogi, you're becoming a pro photographer. Way to go!
Thanks for another entertaining and enlightening blog post. I'm impressed by how much yoga you're doing. I too would be missing most of the night action, by the way. Looking forward to catching up more when you get back. We've all been thinking of you and wondering how you're feeling in this last week of your two-month adventure. I hope you have a wonderful time in Montezuma.
Lots of love,
Sofie
P.S. Sorry I didn't write sooner. Just got back from my weekend in TO yesterday evening. While it's not totally back to normal, Mom's sciatica seems much better than it was at Christmas.
Hi Dad!
Very interesting and educational post, as usual! Thank you. It's interesting to learn about the history and geography of the place. Your photos are beautiful too. It looks so sunny and warm. We're in the middle of an ice storm here.
I hope you had a nice dinner yesterday evening and that your trip to the Nicoya is rewarding.
Lots of love, Sofie
Stunning! Hi Dad!
Well,as far as tourista goes, I would not have said no to that experience! It sounds and looks from your pictures like a magical place. It must have been quite the experience to be in the forece of those winds and immersed in the clouds. The wildlife was awe-inspiring too. You don't get to see hummingbirds up close like that everyday. One of the mothts looks like he has a snakeshead on the tip of his wing too (the brown one). Great shots! How was the climb and descent off that peak? It must have been invigorating. Not too hard on the knees, I hope. Hope also that San Jose proves every bit as inspiring and relaxing. Lots of love, Sofie
great photos Hi Peter,
I'm sitting in Central New York enjoying a cup of coffee while a different sort of windstorm (this one brings snow) is blowing outside. I love your pictures of butterflies and will share them with my colleague, a biology professor who brings his students to Costa Rica. Safe travels!
Sorry wemissed your call! Just looking at your pictures again over breakfast. Looks like beautifu bays and beaches and interesting architecture in the town. Have you explored the city much?
Look forward to catching up soon!
Love, Sofie

Entertaining account, as usual! Monteverde sounds beautiful and exotic. Hope it proves less touristy! Sounds like you've done really well with your accommodations, though. The off-the-radar beach sounded spectacular. Hope you weren't too afraid to be there, though. Do you feel safe?
Lots of love, Sofie
Hi Peter,
It was great to meet you at the Belize Zoo. You've really captured the essence of Placencia and I hope you'll consider doing a post about the zoo. I look forward to getting together upon your return to Canada.
