Kathryn,
Great to hear from you, I hope all is well my worldly traveling friend. I know, I need to keep moving or I'll start to go a little crazy soon, everyday a new adventure. Take care and stay safe
great job! Hey there Nate.
You write well. You travel well. Wishing you a lifetime of both. Madison is always here, but just so you know that even now I'm sitting here thinking (and sometimes crying) "what the heck am I doing!" Time for me to travel again!
your old (and getting older) MTTP classmate, Kathryn
It's great to hear from you! Nate, It's so great to have you blogging again and I'm so glad your found the "toilet" restaurant! Who could imagine! It a promise that the next time we are all together, we will make sure your have some drinks so you can fill us in on the unprintable adventures!
So glad you are settled in California now and started your stateside adventure!
Love, Aunt Ann
Good to have you back! I always enjoyed reading your entries...it is good to have you blogging again....Love the stories and the pictures. I will definitely feed you drinks sometime and get the rest of the adventures! Thanks for sharing. Love, Lyn
Just to let you know! Congratulations! This photo is currently featured on the Front Page. Pity about the time of year. ;)
You would be lucky to catch it on the Front Page though, because the Featured Photos only appear there(on the top right) for a few minutes at a time.
Thailand accommodation It seems you enjoyed a lot there. You have nicely described about the LadyBoys. I am really happy that you were safe. In Thailand one can stay with local people instead of staying in hotels and guest houses. People can save money in this way and learn more about local culture.

Cars ... and cats That Ford looks like nothing I have scene before. Do you know which one it is?
Cats ...
My wife has a cat and it hates me. I love animals, live on a FAINTING GOAT farm with my family and have horses and dogs too. I just can't figure out why that darn cat hates me so much!!
Highlights ... When you first starting blogging the pictures were nice but never of you, then only a rare occasion we would get a glimpse of your face. So after 737 pictures & 22 blogs, it is easy to see why I enjoyed this blog so much - you are in every picture.
We're looking forward to having you home soon but are glad for the experiences you've lived in the last year......I sense some early nostalgia in your lastest posting?? Hope to see you soon! Dad
coming home Wow, hard to believe the year for you is done. I am sure coming back to the US will be as foreign an experieicen as your fist days in China. I am sure it will be an emotional goodbye, but friends you will keep for a life time. We had great fun with your family for the 4th. Everyone loved your presents and I have red wealth and good luck tassels hanging from many doors in the house now. The fans are lovely too. We all look forward to seeing you again. Travel safely home.
Rita
Good Luck Charm Nate,
Wanted you to know I did get the post card...but someone stole the good luck charm! Pretty funny.....but my luck has been quite good of late, so hopefully just the act of send me luck has had a great positive force. We will celebrate on the 4th with you in spirit........best luck on the passport front! regards, Rita
Josie Of the many memories I have of Josie, my favorite is actually in the 300M. That day, items involved were 1) Wendy Trays and 2) side road 'parking lot'. Remember that?!
wish we could visit too! Hey Nate -
Just wanted to send you a quick thank you for the Chinese Good Luck Charms! Your letter made it - althought a little torn and tattered and resecured in a post office plastic envelope because "they care".... Thanks for thinking of us! Hope you and Michelle have a great time at the Expo - I remember when Liz took me to Spain for the World Expo in 1992....it was a great time.
Love you.
Thanks I loved getting you're card. The postage was impressive. Thank you for the good luck charm. That was thoughtful of you to think of me. I have already worn it. It is a great conversation piece.
I don't think the native Kentuckian's speak English as well as you speak Chinese. I love your blogs and especially the photos of food. What an education!!
Can't wait to go to Chicago for the Fourth and to see all my progeny, especially those two little great-grand babies.
Thanks again. I love you lots. Grandma K.
keep on traveling! Hey there Nate!
I've enjoyed following your travels this past year- especially all your food post and food photos. So glad you got to go on this adventure.
Wishing you many more!
Kathryn
MAIL FROM CHINA!!! Hi Nate!
Yesterday (Friday), we received your postcard and Good Luck Charm from China. BEST MAIL EVER! I seriously found 6 cents yesterday (a nickel and a penny laying together on the ground) and immediately attributed it to your gift! I am considering retiring and turning my life over to the Good Luck Charm (which now hangs in our kitchen). Mrs. Farinella, of course, is not so sure...
We are looking forward to your return home. We would love to have you and your folks to the house for dinner (we will do the cooking tho if it's okay with you) to hear first hand of your travels. First tho, it sounds like you've got a fun visit planned with your sister. Enjoy!
On a lighter note, I had my first colonoscopy this past Wednesday expertly done by Dr. Koffel. I have never felt closer to your Dad! I have promised him a free and thorough Human Resources exam at a time of his choosing... (and the only thing HE'LL have to drink is a cup of coffee) :-)
Okay Nathan... as always your blog entry is fascinating. Keep em' coming! Take care...travel safely...and we'll see you back on Carrington Blvd. soon.
What will happen to Jackie (mycat) when I go back? I'd love to smuggle him into the states, but he would make for noisy carry-on. I'm sure he would start snoring midflight or something equally rediculas and then the cat would be out of the bag. Currently the plan is for him to live with my girlfriend and try see if there is a legal way to get him into the country before she moves to Canada. Last resort is Jackie moves in with my gfs cousin's (who is trying to steal him already) who are not immigrating to Canada.
My name is Nathan. N-A-T-H-A-N. I am from Ohio. I have lived in the midwestern United States my entire life. I used to live in Zhongshan China. Now I'm living in California.... full info
