After a few more lavish sites were back to a basic car park tonight although they do have toilets and electric. Bit further up the Romantic road and stopped in rothenburg another walled town which we have yet to visit, thats job for the morning. Another meal in the van followed by cards and a little poker. Very much settled into a routine and most jobs get done without thinking. Nothing more has broken on the van but some things do annoy me with there quality of workmanship, guess that just the way the world works these days. All in all another good day with lots of memories to treasure.... read more

Big day today with lots done. was an early start after a late finish due to a party last night (nothing to do with me), Sue not impressed! We headed out for Stein just outside Nuremberg to park up and catch train into town center of Nuremberg. After 3 hours of walking and another 4 churches under our belt we headed back to van to drive to a camp site. we chose another lakeside camp just out side Gunzenhausen with 240v power, hot showers and at last free WIFI! We arrived at site at about 3 o'clock and headed down to the lake for a swim and a nap. Its great how well all the lakes are set up here with bars restaurants and most have water sports of some description. Dinner was a BBQ with ... read more

After chris and I walked around most of the wall (got bored as main view was peoples gardens), we left the romantic road to go to Wissenberg. Pretty route but glad of satnav as came across another closed road. Moved on to a camp site in Absburg, again next to a lake. Next morning , I went for a walk whilst Chris and Moe cycled around part of the lake. After relaxing and going for a swim we hired a pedalo and in the evening played mini golf until lack of light stopped play.... read more

Got the train into Munich and walked around the sights. Sue did her usaul overdose of churches. We stopped for a beer in hofbrauhaus the oldest beer hall in Germany. We waited for the rain to stop but gave up and headed back to Erding. while in Munich we bought some fish for dinner so we cooked up a yummy meal and sat back to watch a vid. Moving on in the morning and heading back onto the romantic rd. Can't see whats romantic about being stuck in 45 square foot of motorhome with your 15 year old son! Oh and Sue managed to climb 306 steps up a tower to take in the view of Munich. Eventually!... read more

After a disappointing drive through of Frieburg we travelled through amazing Scenery to Triberg the home of cuckoo clocks and Germany's largest waterfall. Left the boys to do the long walk up the hill back to the car park. Came across a swimming lake with inflatables so stayed night as weather now in mid 30s. Next day left Black Forest and made it to lake Constance in Meersbug. Stopped for lunch and stroll around old town. Slow journey to Lindau but found a campsite by lake. Nice swim but midgets are a pain in evening. Glad there's no border control as route passed into Austria. Decided to allow motorways on satnav so drove through some long tunnels and quicker trip. Fussen very busy. Went straight to castle Neuschwanstein. Had to wait nearly 4 hours for english ... read more

Getting ready for the big trip and growing more excited by the minute. Sure we will forget something but I guess that's what the credit card is for. Hope we get a few peep's following our adventure into the outback of Europe. No confirmed sites to stop at apart from Spa at end of trip. Got a rough route but I am sure that will change. Will add as many pic's as we can and would love some mails and feed back. 67 hours 55 mins till we are on the ferry! Enjoy. I know we will. The Pearce Family... read more

Woke to breafast in the room which was a suprise as we had forgotten we added it when booking. With breaky done we went to explore the complex and view the Sheraton Hotel in who's grounds our villa is situated. As always the brochures over sell things and we soon found we would have to pay extra to use the facilities at the Sheraton along with extra payment for electricity if we went over our allocated amount. As things here are that bit cheaper we took the news with smiles and just got on with our holiday. On the up side the villa is very good value for money and has a one and a half kilometre swimming pool going straight past our balcony, along with all the essential additions such as hair dryer and tele ... read more

Packed and tidied house. Stopped at nice beach cafe in Melbourne for lunch before being dropped off at Airport. Said our sad goodbyes before boarding our Thai Airways flight to Bangkok. Flight fairly empty so could spread out and had 3 seats each. Service very good and the kids managed to get some sleep. Unfortunately waking up to be offered noodles with prawns and chilli was too weird for Chris and he had to make use of the sick bag. Taxi was waiting for us and we made haste on the empty roads to our Blue Lagoon Villa. ... read more
