I'm a 33 year old adventurous female that loves to travel. Traveling is known to expand ones view of the world we live in and our perspectives on life. Traveling reminds us that our worlds are absolutely tiny and that whatever your problem is, its tiny in the grand scheme.

I travel to expand my mind, to experience the unknown, to try new foods, to appreciate life and wildlife, and to challenge the very essence of who I am.

The alarm starts beeping at 5:15am to let me know it's time to wake up. I jump in the shower and my body is severely asking for caffeine, too bad I don't drink coffee or tea. 5:50am rolls around and I put my valuables in the safe. It was highly recommended to do that while you are away from the hotel. My tourism bus is about 10 minutes late, but after noticing yesterday's insane traffic I seriously can't blame them. They read off the roll sheet to make sure we have everyone. After all is accounted for we leave and head to Dorka Coffee Plantation to see how coffee is grown and made. I'm the only one on the bus that is by themselves and it's quickly noticed by the other tourists. We get to Dorka ... read more

Online it states that one is suppose to be at the airport 3 hours early for International flights, I found out at one of the nations busiest airports that I was extremely early. LAX has security down to near perfection with time management brought into the equation. I was absolutely stunned. I did however have to have my bag looked at because of the baby wipes that were inside of it. I asked if he needed to see my medical card for my Crohn's disease and he said no I completely believe you. I was shocked again that the TSA were being so relaxed and actually having decent customer service. I get done, and I decided it would probably be wise to grab dinner, because Flight meals are rather disgusting and with a low residue diet ... read more

I've spent the majority of the day doing laundry and figuring out what I should or should not pack to a tropical country. I've never been in such an environment and no I don't consider Hawaii the tropics when you're dealing with Costa Rica. After beating my head with an entire day of searching and reading advice from other fellow travelers they say to pack things that will dry quickly and to wash clothes in the sink. Lucky for me all my hotels have a laundry service on site, so no redneck washing for me :) Now is the biggest decision I have to make, do I take a backpack and attempt to rough it or do I bring a full on suitcase? I talked to Kay and she told me that I should do the ... read more

For the past several months I have been googling everything I possibly can for Costa Rica. I've had friends from Australia tell me the warning signs from their embassy's page, where I then check the State Departments page about Costa Rica and they have no warnings at all. It has me pondering if our Government isn't missing something or if Australia is being overly sensitive. Hmmmm. My friends are mixed about me traveling alone to a Central America Country. After all I am a white single female and even I agree I am or would be a walking target for down there. Luckily Costa Rica is a heavy tourist vacation spot with a lot of American's living down there. I even found out that former CIA Agents retire down there, so it can't be all bad. ... read more
